Q: 3. Does this lens work with the Fujifilm XT-20? When connected to the camera, the shutter will not respond and I cannot take a photo.

A: You must use your X-T20 in manual exposure mode in order to utilize this lens.

Q: 4. Has anyone used this for scanning photo negatives?

A: We cannot test the lens for digitizing film but using an actual film scanner such as the Epson V600 would be much higher quality than using your camera. Please take a look at the following link: https://bhpho.to/3dniCnW The reasons why a scanner would be better than a digital camera are: A scanner has a much higher resolution. A scanner has dust and scratch removal software. A scanner can also scan negatives and reverse the colors back to a positive. A digital camera only shoots one color per pixel and guesses the 2 missing colors. In other words, one pixel is shot as red and the camera estimates how much blue and green are in that same pixel. The next pixel is shot as blue and the camera estimates the red and green. A scanner actually scans the image 3 times with a tri-color filter so it is scanning each pixel as red, green and blue as opposed to guessing the missing colors as a digital camera does. Basically a scanner will be more color accurate, better tonal range and it will give you better highlight and shadow details.

I was surprised at how sharp a lens costing a little more than 100 bucks could be. All metal build, very good magnification, macro like. Is manual focus only, no electrical contact with camera. Very compact size. I am satisfied with my purchase.

For the price I could understand why people might shy away. To be honest with you I was a little skeptical at first but this lens is worth it’s weight in gold! I’m sooo impressed by the quality! This lens was used for portrait shots at a barbershop, the quay of the photos are impeccable! Couldn’t of been more happier with the outcome. Shop clients ask “how much did that camera and lens cost you. They think we spent thousands of dollars on the lens and camera. This lens is a great buy for anyone trying to promote they’re business and take PROFESSIONAL quality photos with our spending a fortune. I’m so glad I found BH photo video! They have all you need and fast shipping options.

I got this in a pinch as a placeholder for a better lens I had on the way. Honestly, for the price I wasn't expecting much. It exceeded my expectations and did really well. It's a bit soft all the way open, but performed really well at f2. There is a bit of vignetting and softness at the edges, but far less than what I was expecting for the price!

I'm really pleased with this lens. It looks great and feels awesome in my Canon M50. Is very easy to focus with it despite the shallow depth of field at F1.4. The bokeh looks amazing. Very sharp at F1.4, not great, but certainly better than i spected. It have some cromatic aberration and the colour rendering is not the best, but all of this can be fixed in post production. The focus ring is smoth, and the apperture ring have the right amount of toughness. Taking photos with this lens gets way more fun.

A great lens! Nice sharp images! At least on a Fuji camera the only metadata that was missing was the aperture data. Focus ring is very smooth. The aperture ring does not click value to value so one has to look quickly to the aperture ring to know what f-stop you are shooting at that moment.

This is a small and fast lens with that intimate telephoto look. It complements very well the standard 30mm focal lens on the cropped sensor. One of the reasons I've chosen this one vs the similar price range completion is that it can actually focus fairly close - about 35. It makes a big difference in my work. Sharp and dreamy shallow depth of field. It delivers on all the aspects. Get one!

Yes, with this well built MF 55mm f/1.4 inexpensive gem. Reminds me of the pleasures I had with my first 35mm film SLR and its unbeatable MF 50mm f/1.4 lens.

Thank 7Artisans for bringing back the magic. If you once enjoyed such a lens you will not be disappointed with this one. Run your camera in aperture preferred mode and focus away.
