Designed to produce crisp and clear wide-angle views, the ZEISS Victory Harpia 85 Spotting Scope is engineered for the superb performance hunters, birders, and outdoor enthusiasts have come to expect from the brand.

Its performance begins with the use of extra-low dispersion fluoride glass, which virtually eliminates color fringing and halos caused by chromatic aberration, ensuring views are crisp and sharp with accurate color fidelity. Additionally, ZEISS' proprietary T* full multi-coat system maximizes light transmission to improve color rendition, contrast, and clarity, while exterior lens surface LotuTec coating ensures oils, sap, dust, and dirt are easy to clean off without residue. The large 85mm objective lens draws in copious amounts of light to ensure images remain bright and clear, even in low or challenging light, and helps to produce the wide field of view. This version of the Harpia 85 is offered here with the spotting scope body only; an optional eyepiece is required for proper use.

To make viewing more comfortable, the eyepiece holder is set at a 45° angle, which places the user's head in a natural position whether they're sitting, standing, or lying prone. A rotating tripod collar enables the user to further position the eyepiece precisely where they want it to limit head movement when using the spotter with other optics, like a rangefinder or a firearm. A dual-speed focusing mechanism ensures tack-sharp images, and front threads allow the use of filters, like polarizing or ND, to enhance and sharpen views even more. The optical tube is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be water and fogproof in even the harshest conditions, with a standard 1/4"-20 that makes it easy to mount onto most photo/video/field tripods and other support systems.

From the woods, to the mountains, to the steppes, the Victory Harpia 85 delivers expansive and panoramic views with enhanced clarity and true color representation.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I put the proctective filter in the front? If yes, what filter diameter size? Thx

A: The Celestron TrailSeeker 100 22-67x100 has no filters. If you are referring to the objective lens cap that comes with the scope. That would slip over and cover the objective. Which is 100mm.

Q: 2. Will this scope mount to an Arca Swiss type clamp?

A: Yes as long as the threading is 1/4"-20.

Q: 3. How would this be for casual astronomy: Jupiter, Saturn, Moon, etc....?

A: Awesome for casual astronomy, you can see the rings og saturn and the four largest moons of jupiter. At full magnification the moon is large and crisp, extremely fascinating. Very little in the way of chromatic abberation even on the full moon. Smooth and easy to use focus, both focus wheels. However, the size and weight of the scope does require a very sturdy tripod. The scope is highly recomended :)

Q: 4. Can you add a 2x Barlow lens on this scope?

A: Yes you could as long as it's 1.25 . However you might get some distortion and darkness. I wouldn't recommend using one. Honestly.

Q: 5. How is this scope for bird watching. Should I be looking at anything else in this price range?

A: This is a great value for a premium spotting scope but due to the weight of this 100mm (even with the magnesium body), you'll probably only be using it in locations where you can take it out of your car and bird near your car, or for short hikes. You'll need pipe insulation around your tripod too for cushioning to your shoulder when carrying it. As one who works in astronomy, I recommend inexpensive Astro-Tech ED planetary eyepieces (Paradigm Dual ED), or Televue (much more expensive) as superior to the zoom eyepiece supplied. Note that Celestron does have some quality control issues, but are great at replacing defective gear.

Q: 6. Is this a better option than the 80 for birding?

A: Yes, the larger the diameter, the more light gathering for low light situations.

Q: 7. Can this ZEISS Victory Harpia 95 hook up with Sony mirrorless camera body with E-mount? If so, what adapter should be used?

A: You will need (2) items. The Novagrade T-Mount Digiscoping Adapter BH #NOUA00T101 • MFR #UA-00T1-01 to position over the eyepiece. The Vello T-Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Lens Adapter BH #VELANEXT • MFR #LA-NEX-T to attach to your camera body. Those (2) pieces will now screw together.

Q: 8. I have a Gimbel head for my tripod that I use with my camera. Will this head work for the Regal M2?

A: The Celestron Regal M2 100ED Spotting Scope with 22-67x Eyepiece (Angled Viewing), BH # CERM2100EDSS, should work with most gimbal heads that feature a standard 1/4"-20 threaded male stud and can accommodate a payload of at least 7 lbs.

Q: 9. Does this spotting scope have any reticles or illuminated lines for guidance? If not, what other Zeiss spotting scope have reticles? Thanks

A: Spotting scopes don't have reticles. Only rifle scopes have reticles.

Q: 10. Is the front threaded for a filter? What mm size if it is ? Thanks

A: No, the front objective housing is not threaded for a filter.
