As the name suggests, Minox designed their 10x44 X-active Binoculars to allow you to move fast, find game, and track it—to be your go-to optic that you'll keep in your hunting kit year-round.

Minox eschews convention by utilizing a 44mm objective, instead of the much more common 42mm size. The larger lens provides performance increases across the board, including light-gathering capability to keep views bright in challenging conditions and a wider exit pupil and a longer eye relief than you typically see in 10x binoculars of this size. Proprietary M* anti-reflection multi-coatings on the lenses and phase-corrected roof prisms transmit bright and clear high-contrast images with true neutral color rendition and crisp clarity. From the wide field of view to the ultra-long eye relief, all of the X-active's performance enhancements are critical components for scanning the terrain while identifying your target and maintaining sight of it without it seeing or smelling you.

Utilizing an open-bridge/dual-hinge configuration helps to cut weight without sacrificing stability while providing plenty of room to wrap your hands completely around the optical tubes for a better grip, even if you need to use them one-handed. The chassis is made of a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy wrapped in a protective armor that provides a slip-resistant grip—especially in cold and wet weather. The optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be resistant to internal fogging and also waterproof and submersible to 16'—so the X-active will fair better than you if the binoculars tumble into a stream or pond. And if you do end up in a stream, tethered objective lens caps and one-piece ocular rainguard prevent their loss while allowing for fast reaction when opportunities present themselves.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would a Pentax 67ii body with a prime lens attached plus one more prime lens fit in the bottom compartment?

A: I can fit a Canon 5D mark III with battery grip and a 24-70L in there comfortably. I use this as as travel backpack, actually bought it in NYC at BH photo when there and it is by far the comfiest and best travel backpack I have ever used or bought! Well worth it as it's basically a half half backpack and can store your camera with easy access (and can add a separate lock) and then in the top half add your shopping or a jumper etc..

Q: 2. Whats the difference between this and the first version? other than a slightly bigger laptop until what else is different?a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1003551-REG/manfrotto_mb_ma_bp_a1_advanced_active_backpack_i.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1003551-REG/manfrotto_mb_ma_bp_a1_advanced_active_backpack_i.html/a

A: That is the only difference between the two models. The version II takes a 15 to 17 Lap Top, and the version I only accommodates up to a 15 .

Q: 3. What are the main differences between X-Active 8x25 and the older Minox BV 8x25 (62059) they replaced? I compared the specs and can see the X-Active are a few ounces lighter but not much else. Are there any differences in terms of optics?

A: Newer coatings and a newer procedure to put the coating on the elements. Increases light transmission and colors

Q: 4. Would a micro 4/3 camera with a zoom lens attached plus another small prime lens fit in the TOP compartment? I plan to put a full size camera and lenses in the bottom compartment.

A: This bag is meant to hold a single camera and 3 lenses. It may not be a good fit when using 2 cameras and additional lenses. We do not recommend it for that. You may want to look at larger bags designed to hold more than 1 camera, such as B&H # CAGBD200EG.

Q: 5. What are the dimensions of the upper compartment? I'd like to be able to stow a compact umbrella 15 long.

A: A 15 umbrella won't fit directly. The compartment is 11x11 inches. But you can either use the outside pocket meant for a tripod or you could unzip a small portion of the devider between the lower and upper compartment. In both cases you should be OK.

Q: 6. What are the main differences between X-Active 8x25 and the older Minox BV 8x25 (62059) they replace? I compared the specs and can see the X-Active are a few ounces lighter but not much else. Are there any differences in terms of optics?

A: Its a newer coating and a newer procedure on putting the coatings on. Better image color results and improvement in light transmission

Q: 7. will this hold a Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 lens, D300s with battery, plus two additional lenses & flash?

A: This backpack would not fit your equipment, my apologies. I would recommend going with the Manfrotto Veloce V Backpack. It will be a better fit. Website link: http://bhpho.to/1MPTbaI

A: These camera straps are very wide, like the Tamrac Boomerang strap: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/917751-REG/case_logic_dcs_101_cross_body_camera_strap.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1137470-REG/indigo_marble_sc35_padded_neoprene_anti_slip_sling.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1278405-REG/blackrapid_361009_hybrid_breathe_double_strap.html

A: Yes it dose come with caps.

A: B&H has just one superstore location in the Midtown West/Hudson Yards neighborhood Manhattan, NYC.

This bag is really lightweight and easy to carry more than you would expect! You can't see it from any of the images that B&H provides but there is a zipper inside the larger front pocket that allows you to access your camera gear which is very handy! I can fit my Canon 70-200 2.8 WITH the Canon RF adaptor attached in here with no problem.

Great bag, the quality of the material is excellent. There's a lot of room for everything I need to put in there, my flash, lenses and accessories. The laptop pocket is great as well. It comes with a water/rain cover in addition to the already rain proof bag for added protection. I'd like to add and as I've read another reviewer say, the bag is quite wide and sits a bit wider than my narrow waste which can be a problem when navigating narrow spaces like buses and things of that sort.

I use this bag for school everyday. WIth the camera insert at the bottom, its big enough to keep my 15 laptop, along with some folders and notebooks. When you take the camera insert out, there is plenty of space to keep a bunch of books along with your laptop.
