I typically keep a coin as a tool to tighten/loosen quick release plates. I keep the rabbit key on key chain type lanyard tethered to my tripod/monopod for convenience and not have to worry about keeping a coin on hand. 5

Yes- a coin could do the same thing when installing and removing quick release plates to your camera and lenses...but...this is so much more fun! I looped it through a Think Tank Photo Red Whip Bungie so I can easily attach it to my monopod, tripod, camera bag/backpack or camera strap. Easy to hold and get that extra tiny twist when tightening plates. 5
