Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. In terms of density is this equivalent to the Hoya PRO ND 100000 filter in order to take photos of the sun directly?

A: Yes, the Kase Wolverine Revolution 10000ND Filter with Magnetic Adapter Ring (82mm, 16.5-Stop, Orange) is the same density as Hoya ProND-100000 Neutral Density 5.0 Solar Filter (16.6 Stops). You shouldn't look directly to the sun with these filters though. So when using it on your camera you cannot look through the optical viewfinder, only look on the LCD.

Q: 2. Does this come with a magnetic lens cap?

A: No, it does not. Filers typically don't come with caps.

Q: 3. dos it protect your sensor from a 10-20w laser? or is it only to protect your sensor from lowe-end lasers like 1-5w ?

A: Yes, the following filter has a rated protection rate of 40 watts.

Q: 4. will this replace the CPL in the 77mm kase magnetic filter set that I lost?

A: Yes, they are one in the same.

Q: 5. Will this work with Kase KW Revolution Magnetic Filters?

A: Yes, the Kase Wolverine Magnetic Filter Adapter Ring (82mm) will work with the Kase Revolution Filters.

Q: 6. Does this include UV and IR filtering in addition to ND?

A: Unfortunately, the Kase Wolverine Revolution 100000ND Filter with Magnetic Adapter Ring (82mm, 16.5-Stop, Orange) does not filter UV and/or IR.

Q: 7. Do I have to buy 2 to fit one on the lens and one on the filter ?

A: If you're using the Kase Wolverine filters, those filters are already magnetic so you'd just need them for your lens.

Q: 8. Kase USA website does not even mention solar, just 16.5 ND Is this filter really safe for mirrorless sensor and eye with EVF?

A: The Kase Wolverine Revolution 10000ND Filter with Magnetic Adapter Ring (95mm, 16.5-Stop, Orange) does not cut UV and IR light. UV light could damage your eyes. The MrStarGuy 95mm Thread-in White-Light Solar Filter, BH #STSG95MMSOL, cuts UV, IR, and white light. The material looks wrinkled, and it is designed that way. This will not affect the image quality.

Q: 9. Will the sensor still 'see' the laser and its effects? I want to record a 5mW laser being 'split' by a prism.

A: You will unlikely see the laser effect when using the Kase Wolverine Magnetic 82mm Anti-Laser Protective Filter with Adapter Ring. From the information that we have, this filter is needed for lasers that are 10 watts or higher. You do not need this filter when using a 5-milliwatt laser unless it is pointed directly at the camera.

Q: 10. Is this safe for a Nikon D850 with a 500mmPF + a 1.4TC for photographing solar eclipse?

A: Yes, the Wolverine Revolution 100000ND Filter with Magnetic Adapter Ring (95mm,16.5-Stop) is safe for photographing the solar eclipse.

The Wolverine Magnetic Filter system is a fantastic set of filters. These adapter rings allow you to buy an 82mm system but utilise it on other lenses smaller like a 72mm lens.
You can also add an 82mm magnetic lens cap to this adapter ring as well.
