A: Yes, the Hoodman HCP DSLR Camera Custom Finder Base would be compatible for use with the Nikon D800E DSLR camera both when using the camera with a battery grip or when used with the camera by itself.

A: Yes, the opening is 1 1/8 which is standard for most C stand columns.
