Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have 3 Mettle 600AD Monolights, they have slave units built in, How many Pocket Wizards Xs do I need? I have Nikon D5300 and. Sekonic L-478DR flash meter

A: If you have three monolights and one camera, you will need a total of 4 units. One unit would be a transmitter on your D5300 while each monolight would connect to Plus X unit to receiver the signal. Your Sekonic L-478DR would be able to trigger the flashes with the Plus X units attached to take your flash reading.

Q: 2. Is it possible to run a Nikon SB 800 Flash on the Panasonic G85 using that pocketwizard?

A: Yes, to make the PocketWizard PlusX Transceiver work with your Nikon SB 800 flash you will need Impact SCS-M18 Mini Plug to Hot Shoe Sync Cord (12") to be plugged into one transceiver. The other PocketWizard PlusX Transceiver will live on top of your camera's hot shoe.

Q: 3. I have a Mieke MK580 Speedlite , are these compatible ?

A: My understanding is that they work with everything :)

Q: 4. I have a Nikon D3200 and SB700 speedlight. I am new to remote triggers. So basically I am asking, do I just attached this to the camera and then the SB700 is automatically triggered? Or do I need to attach something to flash?Does this support TTL, or will the flash have to be in manual mode?

A: To use the PocketWizard PlusX Transceiver to trigger the Nikon SB-700 Speedlight Flash off-camera, you would need two (2) PlusX Transceivers; one on the D3200 camera as a transmitter, and one connected to the SB-700 (via the PocketWizard HSFM3 Flash Sync Cable (3'), B&H # WIHSFM3) as a receiver. The PlusX Transceiver is not capable of automatic i-TTL flash exposure. As such, you would have to set the output power on the flash manually.

Q: 5. Can you use these with the Canon 7d and the Canon Mark 5d ii?

A: Yes, the PocketWizard Plus X Transceiver can be used both as a flash trigger and a camera trigger (with appropriate sync cable) with both the Canon EOS 7D and Canon EOS 5D Mark II DSLR cameras.

Q: 6. This is confusing. The LT has several transmitters e.g. 72Mhz and 216Mhz for example. I thought for the receivers to work they must tune or be set to match this frequency band. Or is the ListenTALK LKR-12 an FM band receiver?

A: The Listen Technologies ListenTALK LKR-12 Basic Receiver with Li-Ion Battery, Lanyard & Ear Speaker BH #LILKR12A0 operates on 1920 to 1930 MHz (North America). The North American DECT band, is sometimes called 1.9 GHz, and properly called the 1920-1930 MHz UPCS band.

Q: 7. Do you have CE version instead of FCC in stock? thanks!

A: Unfortunately not. The only PocketWizard units sold in the USA are of the North American (FCC) frequencies.

Q: 8. Will the PocketWizard PocketWizard PlusX 2 Pack work on Fuji XT1 and Nissin i40? Thanks

A: Yes the Plus x 2 Pack can work on a Fuji X-T1 and the Nissin i40 with an adapter such as the PocketWizard HSFM3 Flash Sync Cable (3') B&H # WIHSFM3. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 9. How is this product attached to a flash unit that is connected to a light stand?

A: While the Plus X transceiver is attached to a strobe with a cable, you may use the following product to hold it in place on the stand: http://bhpho.to/1q1ATLU

Q: 10. can I use with a pocketwizard plus2 ???

A: Yes, the Plus 2 is fully compatible with the Plus X.

Just add batteries and turn them on, basically. I've used PocketWizard for years. My old ones would most likely still be working, but a battery leaked in the compartment and RIP receiver.I'm sure I'll use these for years too.
