The light beige B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Standard Sensitivity, with Hardwired cH-Style 4-Pin Connector for Audio Technica Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter. It can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, house of worship, and general lavalier applications.

This version offers the highest gain for general speaking such as in presentations or sermons. Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in a performer's hair or on costumes, ties, or behind a shirt button. It can also be attached to eyeglasses, for a secure, discreet, and convenient alternative to hair miking. The ultrathin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's aramid-reinforced cable terminates to a cH-style 4-pin connector for direct connection to Audio Technica ATW-3201 wireless bodypack transmitters.

Additionally, the included swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with a protective cap, which can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat-frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Standard, for most uses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Any wi-fi or cell phone interference problems with the 2.4 Ghz ?

A: While any digital wireless system may be susceptible to interference from wi fi, this system is very robust and reliable, While in use, the system continually monitors activity in the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi range and automatically switches to a clean frequency to avoid interference if necessary.

Q: 2. Any perspective on if this might make a good podcast headset? I'm considering pairing it with my RODECaster Pro for mobile podcast production. I'm thinking it would be simple to have mic and headshet cabling integrated (as opposed to mic stand, headphones and cable, mic and cable). Is audio quality solid?

A: This is a good choice for a podcast. It is actually a broadcast quality headset with full frequency response in both the headphone and mic.

Q: 3. Do these mics need phantom power? I didn't think so, but it won't work with our passive unpowered phone hybrids.

A: Just as Henry H. explained, the mic on the headset is dynamic, so it ould not require phantom power. I use my headset with a small Behringer mixer with phantom power turned off and it works fine. You probably have tried this, but I would suggest making sure your trim and/or gain is turned up because I have found that some mixers resist the signal significantly more than others.I would also suggest listening back with another headset or loudspeaker that you know will work just in case there is a headphone out setting or bad output you are unaware of.

Q: 4. How can i know what kind of off brand lavalier microphone can be screwed in this transmitter?

A: The Comica Audio CVM-WM200C PRO transmitter is compatible with lavalier microphones which have Sennheiser-style locking connectors.

Q: 5. Is this battery powered or externally powered? One review mentions changing the battery ("required needle-nose pliers"); but the specs here say "Power Requirements = 2-10VDC plug-in power". So which is it?

A: According to the Audio-Technica page for the Pro 24-CM underneath the "Features" tab; You can use it with an LR44 battery in microphone inputs that are not equipped with plugin power. Or, you can use it without the LR44 battery with microphone inputs that are equipped with mic plugin power. https://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/97a500a93cd279a8/index.html

Q: 6. Do they make a rack mount kit for these units? Can you mount 2 of then side by side or should I just mount them on a1 RU shelf?

A: Yes, the Audio-Technica ATW-1312/L System 10 PRO Dual-Channel Digital Wireless Combo Lavalier & Handheld Microphone System comes with rackmount hardware and a joining bar for connecting two ATW-RU13 receivers side by side.

Q: 7. Will this work being plugged directly into Roland r-26 recorder without further power?

A: The Roland R-26 recorder will supply the required Phantom Power needed for this microphone.

Q: 8. I'm confused by the range numbers for Phantom Power. Does the low to high voltage range mean that the mic only takes the power it needs? I have a portable SHURE mixer that allows one to select either 12v or 48v. For the AT 897R, which position should I select on the mixer? Why would this mixer offer an option like this? Is not Phantom Power either ON or OFF?

A: Hi Craig,Short answer: set the Phantom power to 48V. It is what the AT mic uses, and it is the industry standard. 12V (also called 'T-Power') is a standard used with some European equipment like Nagra tape recorders, but for virtually all modern applications, 48V is what is used in broadcast and recording.Claus.

Q: 9. Hoes does the 2 channel receiver record out put the 2 channels, left/right or mixed?

A: The output of the transmitters going to the receiver. Will result in a mixed signal of both mic's out of the receiver.

Q: 10. The manual refers to using a third party app when using a cell phone. Do you have a recommendation for the app or what the app might be called? It also says "it doe snot support the partial original recording of android systems" What does this mean?

A: For smartphone shooting, customers must separately purchase a TRS-TRRS audio converting cable, and pay attention to set the mobile phone mode to 'Flight Mode' to avoid incoming call interference(It does not support the partial original recording of android systems, the third-party APP is recommended to be used in this case.
