The light beige B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Standard Sensitivity, with Hardwired 3.5mm Locking Connector for Azden Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter. It can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, house of worship, and general lavalier applications.

This version offers the highest gain for general speaking such as in presentations or sermons. Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in a performer's hair or on costumes, ties, or behind a shirt button. It can also be attached to eyeglasses, for a secure, discreet, and convenient alternative to hair miking. The ultrathin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's aramid-reinforced cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Azden 15BT and 35BT wireless bodypack transmitters.

Additionally, the included swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with a protective cap, which can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat-frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Standard, for most uses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will it come with foam and clip or i have to buy it extra??

A: I have three of these. It comes with the foam and clip.

Q: 2. What is the head diameter of the microphone?

A: I don't have it with me but - with the foam buffer its around 15-18mm without 8-10mm

Q: 3. How long is the cord?

A: The EX503L features a 1.3 meter cable (4.26 feet).

Q: 4. Good afternoonI have an old Sony-urx-p1-utx-b1 kit, but has lost my lavalier.Does this Azden lavalier work on my kit?RegardsJonny PedersenThe Steadicam Operaotr

A: It is very unlikely the Azden EX-503 will work with your UTX-B1. The connector on the Sony transmitter is a locking 3.5mm screw connector. The Azden is not, also the wiring may be different. The lav normally used as a replacement would be the Sony ECM-77BMP.

Q: 5. How is this powered? No battery?

A: whatever you stick it into; powers it.

Q: 6. will it work with a zoom?

A: The EX-503 will be compatible with devices that have a 3.5mm mic input jack and are able to supply plug in power to the mic. This includes the Zoom H1, H2 and H4N recorders.

Q: 7. Is this compatible with SONY WRT820A transmitter?

A: We would not recommend using a microphone that does not specifically say that it is wired for Sony mics. Sony has their own proprietary pin configuration. This mic, however is wired for a Sony 4-pin hirose transmitter. B&H # SOECM44BC.

Q: 8. Is Azden EX-503H compatible with SONY WRT820A transmitter?

A: This mic is not compatible with the Sony WRT820A. You would need a mic with a twist-on 4-pin connector that is wired for Sony, such as the Countryman B3 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone (Black), B&H # COB3SOBRS.

Q: 9. Can this be plugged into a Sennheiser transmitter? The Sennheiser has a three contact 1/8inch connector, this has only two contacts. Anyone do this already? Thanks!

A: I can't really comment on Sennheiser's equipment, however, if the transmitter has a 3 contact mini-jack, it could be for a balanced connection. If this is the case, it is possible that the 2 contact plug on the EX-503L would work, it just would not be balanced.

Q: 10. Thanks for answering previous question. At Azden I see Azden EX-503 | Azden EX-503L | Azden EX-503H. I dint understand the potential difference among them in terms of sound quality. How to choose among these three.I want you use it for interview and documentary work with zoom H1, which one should i look for? How is the ambient sound cancellation?

A: My 14 yo has been using this item for interviews and is very happy. He has used it for school, small buisness, and religious events. There is some ambient noise when background noise is high but for routine interviews and recording speeches it works well. Value for cost is good.
