Full featured, great range, all inclusive package. Good value as well!

I recently purchased a set of Midland GXT 1000VP4 2 way radios. My girlfriend and I plan on using them while camping. We aren't always together. Me out looking for gold and her doing it is what she does when I'm not around. I have a piece of mind knowing she has a radio and her sidearm for safety reasons. We recently went up in the desert to check reception. It was great. When I go to my house we check reception. I live about 7 miles from her and can hear with good clarity. I can recommend these products.

I havent had a chance to really use these yet. But from what i can see they are good, tough radios. Being waterproof is awesome and the fact that they can take the battery packs or 4 AA batteries. Im giving them 5 stars based on what i can see of them so far.

i have had every single frs/gmrs radio and it never reached 7 blocks but these radios reached 7 blocks on city clear

Plan to use it with headsets for assistants. I like that the units are small, have a TON of options, the menus are pretty easy to understand after checking the manual. The fact that they have their own batteries as well as taking AAs is very useful, my only kink with their batteries is that theres no notch or anything to help you take them out, flat screwdriver to pry them out required. Charger also gives no indication if the units are fully charged or not. The headsets work well but are a tight fit.

Met all expectations and weather feature is essential in the high Rockies; in line of sight situations they work extremely well over distance

Fully charged the radio's before using, then hopped in the car while the wife stood in the kitchen. Went as far as about a mile and a half up town, and the radio's worked perfectly. There were buildings and trees in between us. On the way back I drove behind some taller trees on a steep hill when they faded out. The were also affected by high power lines when moving under them. Call feature worked good , and overall very happy with them. B&H Photo in NYC did good job processing and shipping too.

Great value, easy to use, comes with many accessories for one low price. Easy to set up, even the rechargeable batteries came fully charged.

I needed GRMS radios for trail rides and looked both online and in stores. I found the stores did not know much about them and they did not have any radios in stock other than walkie talkies. Midland products offered the function I was looking for at a fair price. My order was shipped and delivered in several days. The radios came charged so I was able to test them out of the box without charging. All radios worked well on voice and weather radio. Tested the radios in the with good TX/RX up to about a mile in an environment without great line of sight and elevation gradient. Used the remote boom mic and earpiece on a bike and was able to hear on the move but some wind noise was reported from the other station. I am satisfied with my purchase and would do it again.

The Midland radios worked well for our needs. We used them at Zion National Park. In some areas reception was poor but that was to be expected in a canyon. With just a little clearing I was able to communicate with other hikers in my party quite a bit further in the canyon. I would recommend these radios and to make the purchase at B&H. I saved about $ over REI.
