A: As long as your ballhead is equipped with 5/8 or 1/4 threaded insert at the bottom, is just a matter of thread in baby stud into it and than secure ballhead into a clamp with provided wing screw. After that ready to use

I've used Manfrotto Super Clamps as a mainstay in studio and on location. These are virtually identical (I can't see a difference) but are much less expensive. Super strong and a great multipurpose clamp for mounting lights and hanging backdrops. I use this with the Impact Pivot Arm when I need to fit a light or reflector in a tight space. 5

I use this mostly for a remote flash. It is great for just about any location, sturdy enough to mount just about anything, very versatile. It did not come with instrucitons and I am a little curious about a loose clamp behind the stud tightening screw. 5

Heavy - but that's a plus! Bought this to mount a large battery to the back of my DSLR videography shoulder rig - together, the clamp and battery make a great counterweight to the camera. Seems strong and sturdy, would buy again. 5

I use several of these with the Manfrotto side arms to mount additional monolights on my lightstands. The standard stud along with a flash shoe attached to a small ball head allow me to mount electronic flashes in all kinds of positions. Very versatile. 5

The price is so good. The thing will grip just about anything you can fit in its jaws. It grips tight too. I would trust it clamped to the outside of my car with a flash unit on the interstate. 5

This looks almost the same as my manfrotto super clamp. It works like it should and is really solid. I got a set of these to mount small speakers to lightstands that support a projection background. 5
