The tan B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Standard Sensitivity, with Hardwired 3.5mm Locking Connector for Olympus, Roland, Sony, Tascam, Yamaha, or Zoom Portable Recorders from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter. It can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, house of worship, and general lavalier applications.

Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in a performer's hair or on costumes, ties, or behind a shirt button. It can also be attached to eyeglasses, for a secure, discreet, and convenient alternative to hair miking. The ultrathin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's aramid-reinforced cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Olympus, Roland, Sony, Tascam, Yamaha, or Zoom DM-420, DM-520, DM-620, DS-2400, DS-40, DS-51, DS-61, DS-71, LS-10, LS-14, R05, R09HR, PCM-D50, PCM-M10, DR-05, DR-07mkII, DR-08, PR-10, Pocketrak C24, Pocketrak W24, H1, H2, and H2n portable recorders.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.
The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.
The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat-frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.
Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.
Standard, for most uses.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Can you use other upgraded lavalier capsules, such as a Tram TR50, with this recorder?
A: The Tascam DR10L features a 1/8 locking connector that is compatible with lavalier mics terminated for Sennheiser wireless systems. There is a Tram TR50 with proper termination. See B&H# TRTR50BSETP .
Q: 2. How do you advance tracks between takes?
A: Kyle,If you camera has a stereo microphone input then it should be fine.Unit details: a href= http://tascam.com/product/tm-2x/ target= _blank http://tascam.com/product/tm-2x//aThank you for your interest in TASCAM products.
Q: 3. Maybe this is a dumb question, but besides using the headphone jack how can I get a read on the levels to a mixer?
A: If you want to get the resulting audio recorded on the DL-01 into a mixer, you have two choices (1) you can move the resulting recording (the .WAV file) into another playback device which is connected to a mixer (probably the normal case ); or (2) play out the recorded file directly from the DL-10. I have had cases when in the field where time was of the essence where I have had to use #2. It happens enough that I have standard cables in my go-bag for this purpose (3.5mm L+R stereo male to 2x XLR male for L+R -- also carry another cable with 3.5mmRCA connectors) to use the headphones jack on the DL-01 for output. And, yes, the DL-01 recording is 1-channel mono. In the field, when I have had to feed a just-recorded file to a mixer, it works great.
Q: 4. Is there a recommended foam windscreen to cover the metal one? I tried mine out in the field for the first time and it worked beautifully. However, it would have been nice to have a foam windscreen.
A: Jeremy,We don't make one but they are available from other companies.Thank you for your interest in TASCAM products.
Q: 5. When I take out the battery, do I lose the settings that I have already chosen?
A: No
Q: 6. I want put this on her legs but any link which Best Velcro for it? Thanks in Advance
A: I ordered a white, neoprene ankle holster with a two inch pouch and it works great. It is soft and comfortable because it is designed that way as a holster, but it also gets the job done! I used it yesterday in fact on a bride. I found it on daltechforce. They made it custom but it did not take long to get it. Hope it goes well!
Q: 7. If a DJ wants to mic up a pastor for a wedding ceremony with a lav. And I wish to also mic up the pastor for the ceremony with this lav, do I need to worry about interference? I was under the impression that since this records on an SD there should be no interference.
A: No, you should not have any issues with interference while recording with the Tascam DR-10L and another lavalier microphone, whether it is wireless or wired. It is also possible to use two separate wireless lavalier microphone systems at the same time without issues, depending on the frequency band that each system operates within. Please contact us by phone or through live chat on the website if you have additional questions or need further assistance.
Q: 8. How easily can settings be changed accidentally by talent using it (or recording be stopped!)?? That seems like a huge risk since there's no way to monitor it while shooting. (Not to mention noises from clothes, etc)Can it be locked or something?
A: The DR-10L features a recessed power+recording start/stop switch that would be very difficult to stop by accident. To power up the DR-10L the power switch must be pressed and held in the Power On direction for a few seconds, and the recording/stop recording functions are operated in the same manner. While your assertion about the risk due to lack of monitoring is plausible, in my particular application (live wedding events) it is nearly impossible to correct audio issues like noises from clothes or other intermittent interruptions since the event cannot be stopped. That being said, having redundant high-quality audio capture with inexpensive devices like the DR-10L and additional ambient sound recorders has been a better fix than trying to depend on one or two devices that I would otherwise think to be bulletproof.
Q: 9. Why is the sound quality on this WORSE than the internal mic of my Sony A7rIII for distance recordings? I love recorder, but do I need a different mic?
A: The mic that comes with the DR10L is better than the on-board camera mic. It is essentially a copy of a Sennheiser ME2, which is a pretty nice mic. You can upgrade, just make sure that whatever you do upgrade to is wired for Sennheiser (which is the same as this Tascam).
Q: 10. How can I monitor audio if someone is wearing the microphone?
A: Or you could hook up a inexpensive tiny Bluetooth transmitter to it and use any Bluetooth headset up to 50-100ft away. Even the person on can could do this. Keep one earbud in.
