Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I ordered this and it was not the Right screw for me what is the right one where I can slide it down a mounting bar after threading it in? Something longer.

A: A shoulder screw seems the appropriate fastener if I understand the situation. These have a threaded portion at the end of the shaft and an unthreaded portion beneath the head. The shoulder is formed at the border between the two portions, the unthreaded area being of greater diameter than the threaded. This shoulder allows the screw to be secured in the camera before it bottoms out in the hole. Please try a search for 'shoulder screws' to understand the variety of configurations or visit a good hardware store. The standard 1/4-20 threading applies.

Q: 2. I was wondering what the outer diameter of the black knob is - I'm looking to design a rig and I want to make sure I don't run into a conflict! Thank you.

A: The outer diameter of the black knob is 1.16 .

Q: 3. I have an old 70s Stitz Camera Grip and I broke the screw on the bottom which latches the camera to the bar grip. Is this what I need?

A: I think it will do the job. I got two and used them on different grips and they worked fine.

Q: 4. What is the inner bottom dimensions of this tray? Thanks!

A: We believe it is about 22 x 26 .

Q: 5. This tray indicates it is for 30x40 paper, but how large is the tray at the interior base? Will it handle 32x42 paper?

A: No

Q: 6. fairly simple product spec not listed. what is the depth??

A: About 4 .

Q: 7. This is too short for my tripod. Is there a longer one I could buy?

A: Unfortunately, we do not currently carry any longer 1/4 -20 screws.

Q: 8. Is this a substitute for Sony UPC-X46, that I have been using in my Sony digital photo (passport) printer for the last 5 years?Thank you.

A: Unfortunately this is not compatible with the Sony UPC-X46. We do not carry any media that is compatible with this printer.

Q: 9. Do these items screw into each other snugly, or is the 11mm length of the screw too long, and it leaves a gap?

A: Yes, theses Vello 1/4"-20 Camera Screw Kit (6 Screws Total) are supposed to fit snug not leave any gaps.

Q: 10. What is the thickness of the plastic knob? I assume that the 11mm spec is the length of the metal screw. I need a spacer to raise a camera a few mm above the tripod mounting plate.

A: 11 mm does refer to screw only. Knob is additional 7-8 mm thick

Always playing around with new ways to mount little LEDs and the bottom threads are key for versatility.

I use it to attach a bracket to the bottom of my camera and then attach the other end of the screw to my tripod. My 35mm film cameras used one to secure a leather case to the camera. It also allows me to use the camera on a tripod, without removing the case. Another big advantage, if I get in a hurry and accidently screw in the tripod incorrectly, only this screw will be damaged, not the camera.

Perfect for lifting up the base on a small camera for mounting on a tripod. Or in my case, I needed to lift the small SD1400 Canon up a tad on the mounting bracket for my telescope for planetary astropics. Does the trick for a low cost.

You never know when you're going to need one of these. I found out when I ordered a bracket that came with a cheap screw with no tripod socket.

Moderate build quality, but these accomplish what I needed them for satisfactorily.

I use these to mount various accessories to my DSLR, and to mount my DSLR to stabilizing rigs. It's a solid construction.

I needed a couple of the screws to create an addon baseplate for my cameras. I purchased a couple of monopods for camera stability as constantly carrying a tripod can be difficult. My Blackrapid neck straps use the tripod hole, so I made a 1/4" metal plate with a hole to pass the screw through...this hold the plate in position and allows the strap to be connected to the hole on the back of the screw. I also tapped a threaded hole in the plate so that I could screw the monopod to it also. This gives me the ability to quickly use either the strap or the monopod... I can also use the tripod in the threaded hole.

This is the perfect handle for this screw and the metal is long enough but not too long. All other 1/4 screws didn't seem to have very good grips but this had exactly what I was looking for. Love that its a two pack also

Fantastic product !!! Quality design, well made, beautiful to look at. With the addition of 2 spacing washers on each screw, they installed right out of the bag on to my security camera brackets replacing the two adjustment screws that control the tilt angle of the bracket/camera. Now, no more tools necessary to make those minor or major adjustments. What a breeze !! Unfortunately, the screw length is too short to replace the single pan angle adjustment screw on my bracket. What a shame. Does Vello make a camera screw of greater length ?? Say 1/2 ?? I plan to buy additional sets for all of my other camera brackets. Good job, Vello !!

I made my own grip (3d printed) for my EOS RP and needed a way to extend the tripod mount. This unassuming little bit of kit does the job, is well made, and very reasonably priced. Perfect!
