The brown Confidence CX2-8D Dual Omnidirectional/Cardioid Headset Microphone from Point Source Audio is a dual-element microphone with both an omnidirectional mic and a cardioid mic in a single headset with a dual-ear design. The two mics are wired separately but share a single 3.9' cable that is wired to two of Point Source's proprietary X-Connector connections, which allows you to connect to a wide variety of wireless transmitters simply by swapping out X-Connector adapters. A pair of TA5F X-Connectors for Lectrosonics wireless transmitters are included.

The all-in-one solution is suitable for hybrid events, with the omnidirectional microphone providing live sound and the cardioid microphone used for a simultaneous broadcast feed. The mic cable splits to allow ample separation between both wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I blend the audio in one of the Input selections (let's day Position 2) from two Audio sources connected to two separate Inputs (let's say Position 1 and 3) without producing a ground loop or unwanted noise/hum?

A: No, only one input source can be selected at a time. It is not possible to combine multiple input sources. Perhaps the Rolls MX28 Mini-Mix VI Compact Stereo Line Mixer (B&H # ROMX28) may be more along the line of what you need. Please contact us by phone or through live chat on the website if you would like further assistance to find the best option for your application.

Q: 2. What is the vocal frequency range. Is it good for singing at live performances.

A: Human voice vocal frequency range is from about 75 Hertz to about 1500 Hertz. I am not sure what product you are using, tho any pro audio product would reproduce these frequencies. The difference in sound and build quality between various products is subjective.

Q: 3. can it be used film, or video dialogue, if used on 5 feet away?

A: A small diaphragm condenser like the Pro 37 can be used for indoor dialog capture at a close distance, but does not provide the directionality of a shotgun mic and would not be recommended for outdoor use.

Q: 4. Will this plug into a Shure blx1 h10 wireless transmitter?

A: Yes, the Shure PGA31 uses a TA4 connector which is compatible with the VLX1 transmitter.

Q: 5. I intend to buy the wireless type; 5 piece but actually need a 6 piece for an event. how does this cable one work with the wireless type?

A: The Eartec Max 4G Single Headset with Dual 3.5-2.5mm Connectors (B&H # EAHUBMXS) can be connected directly to the Eartec HUB Mini Duplex Transceiver Base for 1 Plug-In & up to 8 Wireless UltraLITE Headsets - USA (B&H # EAHUB) or it can be used as a wireless remote headset when connected with an Eartec UltraPAK Remote Beltpack for UltraLITE & HUB (B&H # EAULP1000). If you need an intercom system with six wireless headsets, you will need to use the Eartec HUB instead of the self-contained wireless master headset included with the all-wireless UltraLITE system. The master headset internal electronics that are similar to those in the HUB, but there are limits on how many wireless headsets that can be used with each system. The all-wireless system works with one wireless master headset and up to four wireless remote headsets while the HUB can be used with up to eight wireless remote headsets and one wired headset which connects directly to the HUB. The HUB can then be worn as a beltpack. Two HUBs can be linked together to create an expanded system for up to 16 wireless remote headsets. Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat on the website if you would like assistance to configure a wireless intercom system that will best serve your needs.

Q: 6. I'm looking for a microphone to capture dancer audio on a stage (steps, claps, tambourine, etc.). I'm also hoping to pick up the audience applause/cheering with the same microphone. I'm hoping I could tape this down on the edge of the stage to achieve that. Has anyone done this? What were your results? What kind of microphone would work better? Thanks!

A: This mic will work for you but be aware that the sound coming form the front of the mic will be much louder than from behind it since it is a cartioid microphone.

Q: 7. If I reversed the signal flow, would this work as a line level Stereo RCA Splitter?

A: The only way you could reverse the signal flow on the Galaxy JIB/R is if you opened it and soldered it to reverse the inputs and outputs to be able to achieve what you are describing. If you require a splitter then you would need something more like B&H # GAJIBS or BH #HEPB2.

Q: 8. Does this equipment work to reproduce 8D audio files in a live event, such as a convention, keeping the full immersion experiene ?

A: This unit is meant to be used in a live or broadcast environment as a noise suppressor for up to 8 channels of dialogue audio over a Dante network.

Q: 9. Is the 1/4" output balanced or unbalanced?

A: Per Galaxy Audio, the 1/4'' output is unbalanced.

Q: 10. Can I connect this to a computer? Is it good for recording audio tutorials? I need something simple and affordable.

A: Yes, I am very satisfied with mine.
