The white B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Standard Sensitivity, with Hardwired 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sony Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter. It can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, house of worship, and general lavalier applications.
This version offers the highest gain for general speaking such as in presentations or sermons. Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in a performer's hair or on costumes, ties, or behind a shirt button. It can also be attached to eyeglasses, for a secure, discreet, and convenient alternative to hair miking. The ultrathin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's aramid-reinforced cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Sony ZTX-B01 and ZTX-B02RC wireless bodypack transmitters.
Additionally, the included swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with a protective cap, which can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.
The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.
The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat-frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.
Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.
Standard, for most uses.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Do any non-Sony mic brands work with this?
A: Yes. Brands like Sanken, Countryman, Tram, Voice Technologies and Senal make compatible mics for the Sony UWP-D27 system.
Q: 2. hi i live in the caribbean on the island of St Vincent and the Grenadines , what frequency range should i get ?
A: The versions of the Sony UWP-D27 which we carry are only guaranteed to work within the USA. Unfortunately we cannot advise on compatibility of radio equipment in other countries, as every area will have its own laws & regulations regarding which UHF frequencies can and cannot be used.
Q: 3. I own this and want to add a handheld mic to that works with the receiver. Which handheld wireless works best with it?
A: You can use the Sony UTX-M40 Wireless Handheld Cardioid Microphone Transmitter that works in the same frequency band as the URX-P41D receiver (BH #SOUTXM4014). This is made by Sony, for direct compatibility with the URX-P41D receiver. Please keep in mind that you can only use up to 2 wireless transmitters with the URX-P41D receiver at a time.
Q: 4. What frequency would you recommend for Washington DC?
A: Radio activity varies by day, but for crowded metropolitan areas the UC90 band of the Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System is usually safest.
Q: 5. What frequency recommendation would you make for the city of San Jose, CA?
A: The "UC14: 470 to 542 MHz" version of the Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System seems to have the most open frequencies in the San Jose, CA area.
Q: 6. What would be your frequency recommendation for someone who is traveling a lot in the U.S. (mostly in the midwest but occasionally the coasts)?
A: Any of these frequency bands will work just fine anywhere in North America under current FCC regulations. Part of the reason there are different bands is so that you can use many systems at the same time and within the same space so that they do not interfere with each other. Another reason is if you are going to be using the system in a place where there are already many other wireless systems, you can choose the one that resides outside of the frequency band that those systems run in, to avoid interference with those systems. If you are not going to be in a space where there is already a lot of wireless traffic, then any of these will work just fine, up to 300 feet line of sight between the transmitters and the receiver.
Q: 7. Does the receiver have enough audio output to power a line level signal?
A: Yes, the Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver in the Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System has an output level adjustment in its Menu options. You can set the level in 3 dB increments from –12 dB to +12 dB (full line level).
Q: 8. Can I use the Sony UWP-D27 for audio shooting with an iPhone 15 Max Pro with the Tilta system?
A: The Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System is not designed for use with smart phones. You would require both a TRS to TRRS adapter and the appropriate digital input adapter for your phone.
Q: 9. Hello, what is the length of the receiver and transmitter including the antenna? Thanks!
A: The Sony URX-P41D Dual-Channel Camera-Mount Wireless Receiver included in the Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System measures 2.5 x 2.8 x 1.4" / 63 x 70 x 35 mm (without antennas). The Sony UTX-B40 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter with Omni Lavalier Mic measures 2.5 x 3.2 x 0.8" / 63 x 82 x 20 mm (without antennas). The antennas used in this system measure roughly 4-5 inches and vary slightly depending on frequency range.
Q: 10. How do the sony mics sound compared to the sennheiser (g3,g4)?
A: The Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System is an excellent wireless microphone system and very comparable to the Sennheiser EW 112P G4 Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System. Both systems are very popular, however, Sennheiser does not offer a dual-channel camera-mount receiver, so for a camera-mount system with two transmitters, the Sony UWP-D27 is a great option.
