Q: 10. How easily can settings be changed accidentally by talent using it (or recording be stopped!)?? That seems like a huge risk since there's no way to monitor it while shooting. (Not to mention noises from clothes, etc)Can it be locked or something?

A: The DR-10L features a recessed power+recording start/stop switch that would be very difficult to stop by accident. To power up the DR-10L the power switch must be pressed and held in the Power On direction for a few seconds, and the recording/stop recording functions are operated in the same manner. While your assertion about the risk due to lack of monitoring is plausible, in my particular application (live wedding events) it is nearly impossible to correct audio issues like noises from clothes or other intermittent interruptions since the event cannot be stopped. That being said, having redundant high-quality audio capture with inexpensive devices like the DR-10L and additional ambient sound recorders has been a better fix than trying to depend on one or two devices that I would otherwise think to be bulletproof.
