The black I2 Bass and Cello Microphone Kit with 2.5mm Waterproof Locking Connector for Lectrosonics WM Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been built from the ground up for smooth frequency response, low noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls and natural on- and off-axis response. It can be used to capture natural audio for this instrument.

The I2 microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and captures detail for quieter instruments. Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the bass and cello mount, which sits securely behind the bridge with a positioning arm for placement. In addition, the 5' cable is hardwired to the mic and terminates with a 2.5mm waterproof locking connector for direct connection to Lectrosonics WM wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the instrument mounts, which position securely and gently on the instrument for capturing audio.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning and consistent patterns.

The omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all directions equally offering the flattest frequency response, lowest noise level, and is least susceptible to wind noise and vibration. It is recommended for recording and sound reinforcement of acoustic instruments such as percussion, guitar, saxophone, and piano.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Zoom H6 Recorder Podcast Kit with 1 enCORE Microphone come with both products in their individual boxes? Anyone know the quality of the XLR cable included? Thank you.

A: Everything will come in its original packaging from the manufacturer. The quality of the XLR cable is the second best in the product line and will work great for most aplications.

Q: 2. Does the H6 black have the same timecode feature as the H5? To output audio to the camera via line out 6400line in (ie Sony a6400) ? As well as sync with cameras timecode for post production purposes? I believe the H5 has this option? Where could I read up on this? I’m just getting into all of this. Hoping the post production process will be fairly straight forward.

A: The H6 and H5 have the same time code basically you would connect a Attenuator cable from the output of the recorder into your camera and it sends a secondary to your camera then you sync the audio with video in post,

Q: 3. Does the Zoom H6 accept Sony XQD cards?

A: No, the Zoom H6 Portable Recorder will not accept Sony XQD Memory Cards. The H6 will work with the following card types and sizes: SD (16 MB to 2 GB) SDHC (4 to 32 GB) SDXC (64 to 128 GB)

Q: 4. If we add the +2-XLR capsule on top, will 6 channels show on the H6 display instead of 4?

A: The Zoom H6 would have the same channel display except the mics connected to the Zoom EXH-6 capsule will come up on the channels that are labeled 'XY' on the display.

Q: 5. I want to transfer 4 discrete tracks from my Tascam 3340s without mixing into stereo. Will the H6 record four tracks simultaneously? I know many other recorders can only record two tracks, then another two.

A: Hi, Ed S. The ZOOM H6 can record 4 audio tracks simultaneously. Just run each of your 4 tracks separately out of your 3340s and separately into each track of the ZOOM H6. Don't forget to read the owners manual to set the quality of your new recording. The ZOOM H6 is an excellent product that will actually allow you to record 6 separate channels simultaneously (with an additional module). I hope my answer helps you. Thanks.

Q: 6. Does this record 32 bit Float???

A: No. The Zoom H6 Portable Handy Recorder can capture audio at 24-bit / 96 kHz. It cannot record 32-bit float.

Q: 7. can I use this with a usb mic?

A: No, the Zoom H6 All Black 6-Input / 6-Track Portable Handy Recorder with Single Mic Capsule will not support a connection from a USB microphone. In general, USB microphones are limited to direct connection to a computer.

Q: 8. what is the weight of the zoom with case?

A: The Zoom H6 Portable Handy Recorder and included X/Y Microphone weigh 14.5 oz and the Gator Waterproof Injection-Molded Case weighs 3.5 lbs. The total weight for both items is 4.4 lbs.

Q: 9. Would this be an appropriate audio interface to hook up 2 XLR mics for recording instrument/piano to a dSLR/mirrorless camera via TRS 3.5 mm minijack? If so, with its own XY mic, can it be used as a 3 mic input? Knowing camera TRS mic input is only 2 channel stereo, would a 3rd mic be useless then? Sorry for the novice question.

A: This is a 6 channel recorder, Four XLR inputs plus the onboard stereo mic. You can connect the output to your camera and record the entire stereo mix to the camera, although you should still use the audio from the Zoom in your final cut.

Q: 10. Can Zoom H5/H6 monitor both {mic inputs + Windows 10} simultaneously? I'd like to use XLR mics in my remote (virtual) presentations/meetings. I want to hear both myself (from the mic) and other attendees (system sound from Windows). In USB/interface mode, does the H5/H6 monitor jack simultaneously output (mix?) both my mic and Windows system sounds? Is that standard "interface" behavior? Do the H5 and H6 behave the same in this regard? (P.S. I wish to avoid "looping" or "overdubbing" or 3rd party mixers.) Thank you all kindly in advance.

A: Yes, but most video meeting software do not give you an option to monitor your own microphone signal.

This is a recording I made you could listen to https://soundcloud.com/i-was-never-here/too
I'm just using the large diaphragm condenser mic attachment I really love it I'm very happy with this but I'm worried about it's life span. If it lasts which I tried to buy the warranty but it's not available in Florida, it would be perfect. Exactly what I'm looking for.

Great sound quality in a portable package. I love that this can also record multiple tracks at once without mixing them.

Right now I've only used the one mic on it and it works perfectly. All you need to do is a few settings and you're ready to go. A mini mixer in the palm of your hand!

It works as a recorder and interface no power needed when connecting as interface to mac/ipad
The mic is nice but i connect The h6 it with podmic dynamic mic no phantom power needed
Perfect for podcasting specially if you want to connect more than mic
You can connect 4 and buy another piece to connect another two instead of it’s defult mic
The only downside is the 4 AAA battery you need
I’m more than happy with it it’s a Swiss knife
