Q: 1. How many stops would I need to do a long exposure of the direct sunset with a bright reflection off a river? I already have a 3, 6, and 10 and I can't get a past 2 second shutter speed with the 10 stop. Should I stack them or buy the 15 or 20 stop?

A: It is always better to use as few filters in front of the lens as possible so one 20 stop filter would be a better choice.

I realize this sounds like a silly question, but since these filters appear to have identical coating on both sides, I'm curious if it should make a difference? Should I assume that the side with the engraved writing be facing AWAY from the camera? I just received 3 of these (3, 5, and 7 stop filters) and a bit dumbfounded! BTW, the quality looks fantastic, along with the packaging.

A: Since both sides have identical coating, it doesn't matter which way the filter is facing. We've taken them out on several shoots without noticing a difference either way.

A: According to Tilta, the Mirage-system supports 2mm and 4mm filters like this Nano IRND 2.1 filter. The issue with your question, however, is that the stackable filter tray holder is not the device you need to hold the filter. You need TIMBT16SFT (stackable filter tray) AND TIMBT16SFH (stackable filter tray HOLDER) to work with the Mirage matte box.
