The 1 RU 6x6 4K HDR HDCP 2.2 Matrix Switcher with Digital Audio Routing from Kramer allows you to switch between six HDCP-compliant HDMI inputs to any or all six HDMI outputs at up to 18 Gb/s data rate. Switch six 4K60 4:4:4, HDR, HDMI, HDCP (2.2/1.4) compliant signals to six 4K60 Hz 4:4:4, HDR, HDMI, HDCP (2.2/1.4) compliant outputs at up to 18 Gb/s data rate. Any embedded digital audio input can be routed to any digital output, in addition to ARC sources, to produce an equivalent 12x12 audio matrix (six embedded digital inputs + six ARC inputs and six digital outputs + six ARC outputs).

A: The Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 18x20 USB Audio Interface (3rd Generation) does have optical inputs. While we are not aware of a specific test between the two products, we believe it should be possible to feed the Atlona in to the Scarlett Product.

A: From my experience you can not select but one input at a time. The product is outstanding, though. I am in to very high end audio and have high end audio components connected like Mark Levinson, Theta, Magnum Dynalab and notice no signal degrade.

A: Yes, that is possible with this product.

Q: 8. I understand the "Mute" button on the front of the unit mutes the audio output. Can this button also be configured to blank the video like the "Blank" button on other models?

A: The mute button on the Kramer VP-550X is not programable to other functions.

Q: 9. What is the maximum cable length supported?

A: They do not list a spec for a maximum cable length. usually we recommend extenders (HDBase-T/Ethernet or SDI) if you plan to run cable further than 35ft however there are specially designed Fiber Optic HDMI cables that are rated to go much longer distances (100+ft). It is always best to test the cabling before doing a permanent install as there are many factors that may add interference or complications to your set up even if it is approved by Gefen.
