Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I feed two video signals and get a half and half left to right screen display?

A: Hi James, This is Jules from Symbiosis, Decimator's Master Distributor for your territory. The DMON-QUAD allows you to create custom layouts that will let you resize and reposition the windows in a multi view. You can have any number of windows up to the number of inputs, in this case four. So it's straightforward to create a layout that puts two windows on screen next to each other centred vertically. The pictures will retain their aspect ratios so you will have some black space above and below the windows. I hope this helps. Jules

Q: 2. can I run 1 input and have 1 output via hdmi and 1 outtput via sdi at the same time?

A: Yes, the four SDI inputs can be output simultaneously over the HDMI or SDI outputs.

Q: 3. Does anyone know if this device will de-embed audio when using this as a SDI to HDMI converter? I know there are smaller/cheaper products that do this but I like the versatility of having a multiviewer as well.

A: Hi Andrew, This is Jules from product support at Symbiosis, Decimator's master distributor for your region. The DMON-Quad will pass embedded audio from any of the four inputs to both SDI and HDMI outputs. When in multi-viewer mode, you can select which input's audio is passed to the outputs. When viewing an input as full-screen the audio from that input is passed. It does not have a separate audio only output. I hope this helps but if you need more information please feel free to contact us on support@symbiosis.com. Kind regards Jules

Q: 4. Hello, I would like to know if is it noisy? I have to use it on set. Thank's

A: The matrix switcher does not make a lot of noise.

Q: 5. So each input of this multiviewer supports 12G data rates? It's hard to tell from the documentation.

A: The OSEE Argos1600-3G 4K Multiviewer with 16-Channel 6G, 3G, HD & SD-SDI Inputs does not support 12G.

Q: 6. When in "switcher" mode, what does the multiview output do? Is it possible to use this as an SDI router while also having a 10 input multiview?

A: When in switcher mode you would not have access to the Multiview output of the AVMATRIX 16-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer and Switcher. It would not be used as a multiviewer if you are using it in switcher mode.

Q: 7. Is there a hole at the base of the stand for the charge cord, or any other holes in the stand?

A: The CTA Digital Premium Thin Profile Floor Stand (White) BH #CTPADCHKW has a hollow column for routing cables.

Q: 8. Can you recommend a good video on how to use the menu on the DMON-QUAD without hooking it up to a computer?

A: Unfortunately, there is no comprehensive video online of the DECIMATOR DMON-QUAD 4-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer walk-through about the menu adjustment via the device itself. The manual explains the various functions and can be viewed here, https://bit.ly/36Ri3Vr

Q: 9. Will this work with an external Thunderbolt 3 Expansion chassis?

A: Yes, The AJA Corvid 88 card is supported with the Sonnet Echo Express SE IIIe Thunderbolt 3 Expansion Chassis for PCIe Cards BH #SOECEXSE3ET3 The Sonnet SE IIIe supports MAC/WIN/Linux (If installing on a New Mac M1 platform please check with AJA support to see if an M1 Driver has been released for the Corvid 88)

Q: 10. How do you input and configure tally into the unit? I don't seem to see a gpi unit anywhere so is it TSL?
