Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. When in "switcher" mode, what does the multiview output do? Is it possible to use this as an SDI router while also having a 10 input multiview?

A: When in switcher mode you would not have access to the Multiview output of the AVMATRIX 16-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer and Switcher. It would not be used as a multiviewer if you are using it in switcher mode.

Q: 2. How do you input and configure tally into the unit? I don't seem to see a gpi unit anywhere so is it TSL?

A: The AVMATRIX 16-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer and Switcher (1 RU) does not have tally light support.

Q: 3. Can we plug simultaneously Line and Mic signal to the embedder?

A: That is not possible with this product.

Q: 4. Does anyone know if this device will de-embed audio when using this as a SDI to HDMI converter? I know there are smaller/cheaper products that do this but I like the versatility of having a multiviewer as well.

A: Hi Andrew, This is Jules from product support at Symbiosis, Decimator's master distributor for your region. The DMON-Quad will pass embedded audio from any of the four inputs to both SDI and HDMI outputs. When in multi-viewer mode, you can select which input's audio is passed to the outputs. When viewing an input as full-screen the audio from that input is passed. It does not have a separate audio only output. I hope this helps but if you need more information please feel free to contact us on support@symbiosis.com. Kind regards Jules

Q: 5. Hello, I would like to know if is it noisy? I have to use it on set. Thank's

A: The matrix switcher does not make a lot of noise.

Q: 6. Are the Multiview outputs independent or provide the same output? Can SDI 1 display different layout as SDI 2 & HDMI?

A: The SDI and HDMI outputs of the AVMATRIX 16-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer and Switcher (1 RU) indicate that they would all output the same Multiview image.

Q: 7. So each input of this multiviewer supports 12G data rates? It's hard to tell from the documentation.

A: The OSEE Argos1600-3G 4K Multiviewer with 16-Channel 6G, 3G, HD & SD-SDI Inputs does not support 12G.

Q: 8. Can you recommend a good video on how to use the menu on the DMON-QUAD without hooking it up to a computer?

A: Unfortunately, there is no comprehensive video online of the DECIMATOR DMON-QUAD 4-Channel 3G-SDI Multiviewer walk-through about the menu adjustment via the device itself. The manual explains the various functions and can be viewed here, https://bit.ly/36Ri3Vr

Q: 9. Does this work with LiveStream Studio 6?

A: Not that we are aware of. AJA does not list Livestream Studio as compatible. It does however list both Wirecast and vMix.

Q: 10. Does it tilt straight up and down?

A: Yes, the CTA Digital Premium Thin Profile Floor Stand (White) can be tilted to adjust viewability.
