Q: 1. i've just ordered two of these from the site as i'm struggling with getting two LG 4K cinema monitors working - the specs here on the B&H page cite displayport 1.1 and 8.64 Gb/s, but the same part number on both amazon and startech cite that these cables (MDP2DPMM6) are actually displayport 1.2 with the 21.6 Gb/s throughput. are these in fact the very same cables that have been mislabeled, or is this an older version?

A: Our site does have the correct specification for the cable. It is a Display Port 1.1 with 8.64 Gb/s.

Q: 2. Does this Mini DP cable to DP cable support 1920x1080 240Hz? I have seen other adapters like this, but those only supported 1920x1080 60Hz

A: Yes, the Mini Displayport to Displayport supports 240Hz.

Q: 3. Can I use this with the MacBook Air Thunderbolt Display port?

A: Yes. I have used this cable for several installations with LG Monitors and MacBook Pros (I'm sure Air will work fine too.)

Q: 4. Is this an ACTIVE Display Port cable...does it have a chip? As opposed to a PASSIVE Display Port cable?

A: This StarTech USB Type-C to DisplayPort Cable is not an active cable.

Q: 5. Will this help connect my iMac with my Surface?

A: This would heavily dependent on the specific models of Surface and iMac. If both items have mini display port then this would be compatible.

Q: 6. Hey do you guys know If I can use this on a thunderbolt display? To a standard z97 pro motherboard?

A: I use it to connect a thunderbolt to GTX 770 so I suppose yes

Q: 7. Can you Daisychain this to 2 thunderbolt displays?

A: Thunderbolt displays require an Apple Thunderbolt port to work. They work exclusively on a Thunderbolt data signal, not just a video signal. This adapter only convert a video signal to a video signal. The form factor is the same for Thunderbolt 1&2, but the data being sent is much different. This adapter is perfect for using an older Apple Cinema Display that has a Mini DisplayPort, and connecting it to a video card or computer that only has Displayport (such as Nvidia video cards, or HP computers). I am using it for that, and it works perfectly. Hope this helps.

Q: 8. Will the Mini Display Port connector on this cable connect to a Mac Pro's (trash can-style) Thunderbolt 2 port and work with a monitor that has a DisplayPort 1.2 input? (I've read that Thunderbolt 2 and Mini DisplayPort 1.2 are essentially the same.)

A: You can use this cable to connect a Thunderbolt 2 port to a Display port.

Q: 9. which accessories will you provide this pc

A: This is only a cable.

Q: 10. I want to connect my iMac (has 2 thunderbolt) slots to TV. Can I use this cable directly to HDMI slots on tv to morror computer. I believe I did this in the past (buying new TV)?

A: No, the MDP2DPMM6 is a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable and does not have an HDMI connection. Atha, StarTech.com Support

I bought this along with a monitor with this port, my research led me to believe these ports and cables will get the best resolution from a monitor. It looks great and is working as it should!

I got a couple new DisplayPorts to connect my BenQ monitors with my Dell 6000S docking station. These are super solid! I like how they sort of clip into each socket so they never fall out on their own.

Electrons go in one end and come out the other, just as expected.

No problems thus far and none expected.
