The BA-TT Universal Ball Mount is designed to work with the Ultralight TRI-TRAY Camera Mounting Plate as a way to attach legs and create a tripod. However, it can be put to use in many ways as an all-purpose 1" ball mount. The BA-TT is also a replacement for the ones at the ends of the DB-CB10 Crossbar Arm. It is made of 6061 T6 aluminum with 316 stainless steel hardware and can withstand harsh environments.

A: Sorry, the TT-15B does not have a notch. If this is an important feature for you, I recommend that you use the TT-15 with the CB-30D ball head which does have a notch and which the ball head of the TT-15B is based on.We do not have any personal experience with the Peak Design plate and have not received any customer feedback about it - generally speaking, most Arca-Swiss type plates are compatible.

Q: 3. I purchased this head along with the tripod and I'm discovering that this really isn't a panning head is it? There is an index and a pointer but the camera drops if you loosen it enough to swivel. Maybe this isn't the right unit for me? Thanks for your help.

A: In general, no, ballheads are less useful for panning purposes. Panheads and fluid panheads are better for that application. A: The TT-15B has an integrated, non-removable ball head which is a simplified version of the CB-30D - it has no Panning Base or Friction Adjustment.The TT-15 M2 comes without a ball head - the CB-30D is an excellent companion ball head for it, but the TT-15 M2 can also be used without a ball head altogether.

Q: 6. Is the PR20 an Arca compatible plate?

A: Unfortunately, the RP-20 plate is not Arca compatible.

Q: 7. I have an Oben monopod that uses an RP-20 release plate and want to purchase an Oben tripod that uses the same release plate. To do this, is my choice of tripods limited to those that specifically use the RP-20 or are some of the other plates, e.g. the RP-10 used in the BA-111, compatible with the RP-20?

A: The RP-20 release plate is different than the RP-10 release plate and is not interchangeable.The RP-20 is only used on the tilt head. There are no Oben tripods that come with a head that uses that plate.
