This 43mm Ice Solid ND Filter Kit contains three filters that can be used individually or in various combinations to darken the entire image, allowing photographs to be made with a slower shutter speed or a wider aperture than normally required. Using a slower shutter speed makes it possible to increase blur to convey a sense of movement. Increased density also makes it possible to shoot using wider lens apertures, helping to isolate a subject from the background. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

This kit consists of three 43mm solid neutral density filters that reduce the amount of light entering a lens by three, six, and ten stops, respectively. Each filter is constructed from multicoated optical glass for clarity and color fidelity. They are each mounted within a slim, aluminum-alloy filter ring which helps prevent vignetting while remaining durable and lightweight.

A nylon filter pouch is included to store and transport this filter kit. It features three padded, nonabrasive pockets plus a touch-tab fastened closure.

Bought this for outdoor portraits where it's too bright to achieve the aperture I wanted. My camera - Fujifilm X-T1 - doesn't support HSS so this is a way of reducing the amount of light. 5

Filters are not just filters. Any pro knows that you don't stick a cheap filter on the end of a quality lens. All the high end filters are, I think, good in terms of not distorting the image, etc. However, there's more to a filter than the piece of glass. The B+W filters seem much heavier than many others of the same size. I think that is probably due to the powder coated brass threaded ring. That heavy duty well machined ring is important because it doesn't get stuck like rings on cheaper filters. Everybody has had the experience of wanting to change filters and discovering that the more they try to remove the filter, the more stuck it seems to get. That's because when you squeeze on the ring, it can distort. B+W filters seem to be sturdy enough so that ring doesn't flex at all. You won't find the glass loose and rattling in one of these filters, as I've seen in cheaper ones. These filters are worth the cost. It's essential to use quality ND filters when shooting video with an HDSLR, since unlike in still photography, you do not use shutter speed to control exposure. 5

I've used this filter for a few weeks now and it comes in very handy for days when the sun is coming in out of clouds. It acts like sunglasses for the lens. 5

I live in a coastal community of Florida and have experienced problems when shooting on bright sunny days. I usually have to shoot at much faster shutter speeds to avoid affects of the sun. The solid neutral density filter did the trick and does not appear to have any affect on the image quality, color or clarity of the photos. The filter has quality construction and threads easily onto the lens. Very happy with my purchase. 5
