A: If you position the frame flat, it would not be able to support itself. If you need to use the frame completely flat, I would recommend purchasing two (2) C-stands or roller stands, one on each side of the background, and two (2) Lastolite Grip Head for Skylite Frame/Panel Reflector, B&H # LAGHSL, to grip the side of the frame for support.

Q: 2. Is it possible use different colored light bulbs inside and turn this into a free standing illuminated green screen?

A: Yes, it would be possible to use colored light bulbs in the Manfrotto HiLite Illuminated Background (White, 4.6 x 3.6').

Q: 3. What are the dimensions of the 2 poles that come in the box?

A: Each of the two poles is 4' x 3/4 -ish.

Q: 4. Is the provided inner roll made of paper or metal?

A: The inner core for the Manfrotto Vinyl Background (Superwhite, 9 x 20') is made of metal.

A: Honestly, I found this item to be a royal pain in the neck and I returned it. I found it much easier to just use some clamps on the bottom edge of the paper. Even when I was able to get the paper in the counter weight, it would buckle and wrinkle. I haven't found any other product that did the job.

Q: 6. Does this have a female 3/8"-16 end on the otherside as well (for stacking?)

A: No.

Q: 7. will this counter weight work with the salon 190 stand?

A: No, the larger Manfrotto Counterweight for 809 & 816 Salon Stands will not fit onto the smaller tube of the Manfrotto 190 Salon Stand.

Q: 8. How well would this work with thin cloth backgrounds?

A: The, Manfrotto Background Paper Counterweight (9') will hold it down. But if the fabric is too thick you might need to tape it or clamp it on.

Q: 9. will this do well for my videos on youtube and get a great background ?

A: Yes it will. This is a rather large green screen that will allow you to chroma key in backgrounds on your Youtube Videos.

I bought these because I hated the way my paper would continuously unroll. I had tried a number of ways to stop it...wish I would have found these earlier. I read the reviews and was a little hesitant because a few people mentioned that they were hard to put on. But I think they were super simple! And they work just as I had hoped they would. If you have any sort of permanently mounted seamless paper system this product is a must. It makes lowering the paper as easy as it should be. Mounting this on the paper is actually pretty easy. One reviewer suggested making a V-fold about an inch up from the edge of the paper, setting the V in the C-shaped plastic and just snapping the pole in. I tried this and it worked like a charm. 5

For anyone that has a chain drive system for paper backdrops, this is an essential component. It snaps easily onto the bottom of the roll and allows the photographer to roll and unroll the paper by themselves. Great product. 5

I have this one set on a seamless paper of 107 and it helps a lot with the background setup. You may need help to set it up on the big roll but should be able to do it alone on a shorter roll. It's heavy enough to work fine. May be a little expensive but it does the work. 5

I purchased with the vari drive system to hang backdrop paper. If I didn't have these, the paper would not hang correctly and would roll back onto the roll very loose. It was easy to add onto to the edge of the paper and created the perfect weight so the paper hangs nicely. 5
