Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this cause vignetting on the new Canon 10-18mm lens? Thanks!

A: The Tiffen 67mm Circular Polarizing Filter will not vignette on the Canon 10-18mm lens.

Q: 2. Can I use this filter on a Pentax 18 - 135 mm?

A: As the Pentax SMC DA 18-135mm F/3.5-5.6 ED AL (IF) DC WR Lens, B&H # PE18135, uses 62mm front filter threads, yes, the Tiffen 62mm Circular Polarizing Filter, B&H # TICP62, would be compatible for use with the Pentax SMC DA 18-135mm F/3.5-5.6 ED AL (IF) DC WR Lens.

Q: 3. Does this come apart into two pieces like the Orion so you can put one half on the eyepiece and the other on the diagonal?

A: No, it dose not come apart.

Q: 4. Does Canon offer a blank cover if you elect not to use the CP of ND filter?

A: Yes this is the blank drop in filter compatible with the Canon drop in EF RF adapter. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1434115-REG/canon_3444c001_drop_in_clear_filter_a.html

Q: 5. I'm a beginner so plse forgive this question - but how do these filters attach to the eyepieces? I see the filters have femal;e threads on them - do they screw onto the top of the eyepiece? Does this mean all eyepieces have male threads so that they accept filters suich as these to be attached? Thanhs, just trying to understand how these work

A: The Celestron Moon Filter Set has male and female threads. . The easiest way to attach a filter is on the diagonal. This way the eyepieces can be changed without re-attaching the filter from one eyepiece to another. Female thread on a filter is used for stacking several filters.

Q: 6. is it the filter by itself or they include the holder also?

A: The Canon Drop-In Circular Polarizing Filter A, B&H # CADICPFA, would be the polarizer filter built into the housing. The polarizer filter cannot be purchased separately; it is a part of the housing and is permanently installed within the drop-in holder and has an integrated wheel for adjusting the rotation position to alter the polarization effect..

Q: 7. The RF adapter with polarizing filter is $299. The polarizing filter by itself is $274 ? That's insane.

A: Yes, doesn't make sense, i'm not sure what Canon was thinking. They have their reasons for certain price points but this escapes me.

Q: 8. can I use this filter on the canon 10-22 wide angle lens?

A: Yes, you can use it in your 10-22 mm. Nevertheless, you will see very strong vigneting in 10 mm. I believe you are not have this problem from 16 to 22 mm

Q: 9. I own this drop in filters and adapter. it's awesome. I want to buy the ND drop in filters as well so I can switch them out when it suits. When will I be able to do this? surely Canon will make this possible. or do we have to wait for 3rd parties?

A: You can get this Canon Drop-In Variable ND Filter A (1.5-9 Stop) BH #CADIVNDFA

Q: 10. Will this canon drop in CPL filter work in the Mieke drop in eos-rf adapter?

A: The Canon Drop-In Circular Polarizing Filter A is not compatible with the Meike EF to RF drop-in filter system.

Decent filter - I am new to polarizing filters. There is some distortion that I can correct for with careful placement. Not sure if this is my novice level or something normal.

Been using polarizers for years. This gives me just enough adjustment to my compositions in real-time versus messing around in post.

B&H is always there when you need that thing at a fair price. Trust me, I went to eBay first. They are not always the best.

In my experience, Tiffen makes good stuff that works. Trying to find 37mm filters (Olympus Pen-F) isn't easy, but when I typed in Tiffen.... Blam! there it was. Purchased many of their filters over the years and never disappointed.

It's been years since I'd used polarizing filters for film cameras, and this circular polarizing filter works very well with the digital I've had for a while..
