Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Tentacle Sync Tentacle to BNC Cable (Straight, 16 ) work with the BMD HyperDesk Mini single one directional RF BNC Input?

A: The Tentacle Sync (C06) BNC TC cable is designed for bi-directional use. Being that you are looking to send timecode out, and into the BMD HyperDesk Mini, I would recommend a one directional TC/OUT cable from ambient; B&H# AMBNC3.5.

Q: 2. Does this work with Sound Devices XL-WPH3 45W DC Power Supply? And with Remote Audio Anton Bauer PowerTap to 4-Pin Hirose Male DC Power Cable (14 ) to power MixPre-6 off Anton Bauers? Thx

A: The Hirose DC Input has a voltage range from 10-20v. So do not power from mains IEC it will fry the unit.

Q: 3. What is the cable length? I don't see that information anywhere.

A: The DigitalFoto Solution Limited D-Tap to 2-Pin Power Cable for BMPCC 6K/4K (Straight) is 2Ft in length.

Q: 4. Does this hirose DC input sled work with the Sound Devices MixPre 10T as far as room for cable is concerned (i.e. without bending it too much)?

A: Unlike the MixPre 3 and 6, the MixPre 10T sports a Hirose 4-Pin DC input connector, so this accessory is not needed for the 10T.

Q: 5. Is this a male, or a female BNC connector? Can't believe there's no photos that show this, and nothing in the description.

A: The Tentacle Sync Tentacle to BNC Cable uses a male BNC connector. The gender of BNC connectors can be identified visually based on the casing of the connector.

Q: 6. Can I connect this to the timecode out on the Zoom F4 and into the mic input on the BMPCC 4K and have a perfect sync? (It will always be connected)

A: You can use this cable to connect the TC out of the F4 to the mic input of the BMPCC. It will need to be connected the whole time, and the TC will be recorded as an audio squarewave onto the track. Once your recording is done, you will need to convert the audio TC to usable TC via a production app like Adobe Premier, Davinci Resolve, or Tentacle Sync Studio.

Q: 7. So this would work with my time code out of my Canon C70?

A: Yes. The Tentacle Sync C06 Tentacle to BNC Cable is a bidirectional cable that can be used to feed or accept a timecode signal between a Tentacle Sync timecode generator and a device with a BNC timcode input/output port like the port on the Canon EOS C70 Cinema Camera.

Q: 8. Does the boom pole holder include the gray mount or is it just the cradle for the boom pole?

A: This item is just the cradle that holds the boom pole. The mount that is shown in gray in the photo is a grip head which is not included, but we do have them available separately. For example, the Impact Grip Head for Lights and Accessories - 2.5" Diameter - Chrome (B&H # IMKCP200) should work with most stands.

Q: 9. Can I use this cable on Pix-e7 for power cable? Can't find any 4 pin Hirose connector in the back of the e7 monitor

A: No, this is the power cable for the Pix 220/240 modlels only. You need a locking DC Coaxial power cable barrel connector to 4-pix XLR if yiu need to use the large battery packs. A better solution is to use the newer smaller D-Tap batteries and use the Pix accessory, Video Devices Coaxial DC Plug to D-Tap Power Cable , listed under Pix E power accessories. Yiu could also take the Pix connector end off your AC power brick, and have a 4-pin XLR connected to it, and the female 4-pin XLR connected to the brick side (where you cut the coaxial connector off), so yiu can still use the AC power supply. If yiu are not familiar with how power cables are wired on XLRs, get a A/V repair service to do this for you. The 4-pin power XLR connectors only use two pins, (not all four at the same time) one set is for 6-VDC connections and the other two are for 12-14 DC connections. You need to meter the connector on your battery pack to see which two and the correct polarity (which pin is + and which is ground/negative connectors. A warning, if you get this wrong, and you will fry you PixE power board in the monitor.

Q: 10. Can I use this cable to connect GH5 timecode out, which is BNC to the Sound Devices Mix Pre 6 II 3.5mm timecode port?

A: The Mix pre 6 II 3.5mm stereo out is capable of doing timecode, so yes it will work.

I have been very excited to get one of these. This has lots of power and I will be getting 2 more. The output is insane!!! Make sure to get the Combo because, without the AC adapter, the battery doesn't last much. The color mode output may disappoint if you expected Asterra output. But for everything else, it is really good and this is probably the best light stick on the market for the price. Totally recommended!!!!

These are really nice lights. Bright (or dim) and highly flexible/continuous color (HSL) and white temperature options. Use the candlelight option on one shoot, and it was surprisingly nice. 1/4-20 thread mounting option, though hand-held is pretty darn convenient and infinitely flexible. Haven't tested battery (30 mins at full power), but the plug-in option has worked well for me.

Only real downside I find is the options dial. Pretty easy to inadvertently jump into another mode. Would also like to see app to manage options.

I bought these on a BOGO sale. Now that I have these in hand, would have bought 4. I intend to buy 2 more at another BOGO sale.
