Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this lens hood be used with a lens filter?

A: Yes, Just be mindful that filter being used must have 58 mm front threads in order to attach hood.

Q: 2. What is the height/length of this lens hood (less male screw threads)?

A: Length is less than 10mm for Heliopan 39mm short lens hood.

Q: 3. Any idea if this would work with Mamiya 6 lenses? Would it vignette the 50mm wide angle lens?

A: Sensei PRO 58mm Wide Angle Aluminum Lens Hood will fit the Mamiya 6 50mm lens perfectly. The design allow wide angle lenses to blocked light glares without vignetting.

Q: 4. How long (deep) is the LONG lens hood?

A: It is about 1 and 5.8th inches long.

Q: 5. will it work with Canon Rebel T3?

A: it doesn't attach to the camera body, it attaches to the lens. If you have a stock 18-35MM lens with your T3, than yeah it'll work just fine. I'm not a big fan of this attachment personally. The corners show on the lens way too quickly and it doesn't add much value. I'd save my money towards a wide-angle lens.

Q: 6. what step down adapter, do I need for this for 14-140mm lens?

A: We are going to assume you mean the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 14-140mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens B&H # PA141403556M. If that lens, you can screw this attachment lens directly on with no need of an adapter.

Q: 7. Does this have an inside ring to screw in filters?

A: Yes, the lens hood has a 58mm filter thread to put a filter in the hood and lens cap.

Q: 8. Will this lens hood cause vignetting with 24mm full frame lens?

A: This hood is suitable for 50mm or higher. It may cause vignetting on wide angle lenses like a 24mm lens.

Q: 9. Will it work with a 16mm lens on APS-C camera or only starting with 18mm?

A: Yes, it will work on any lens with a 58mm filter thread and should cause vignetting with 16mm apsc lens.

Q: 10. For the 58mm version of this hood, is it possible to use a 58mm pinch type lens cap inside of it? Also, will this cause vignetting on a 17.5mm MFT lens?

A: The 58mm pinch cap works fine. Filters, though you didn't ask about them, are a related issue to consider; you can't attach a filter inside the hood. You must either use 58mm filters behind the hood, or 62mm filters in the hood's front end (either or both could create a vignetting problem). I use this hood on a 6x4.5cm film camera lens, so I can't address vignetting on your lens.
