Hawke Optics designed their 2-7x32 Vantage IR Riflescope as a general-purpose scope for close- to mid-range use. Its partially illuminated duplex reticle has etched outer posts and illuminated center hairs that are easy to see, yet won't obstruct your target. The low minimum magnification allows you to use the scope with a reflex-scope both-eyes-open technique for fast target acquisition and tracking at close to mid ranges. You can choose the reticle color as either red or green depending on the situation or your preference; red is ideal for low-light conditions, while green is easier to see in bright daylight. The illumination can also be turned off to give you a completely black reticle.

The scope's 32mm objective and short covered turrets give this optic a low profile with reduced snag possibilities. Capped turrets help guard against accidental adjustments, while its fast-focus collar, zoom ring, and rheostat allow you to quickly adapt to rapidly changing situations. Complementing the performance of the scope is a lightweight and durable anodized aluminum housing, with a 1" one-piece maintube that is nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be water and fogproof.

Q: 5. the legs have tabs at their top. how are these removed to allow for cleaning clamping rings?

A: In order to clean the twist locks (tabs) you must unthread them, once unthreaded you will need to remove the shims from the leg segment using the Allen key included with the set, push the shims outwards from the inside out, once the shims have been removed you can slide the twist locks off and remove shim collars out for cleaning.
