Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. MT055xpro3-3w pan and tilt....Does it come with a bag ?

A: The Manfrotto MT055XPRO3-3W does not come with a bag. This would be the recommended bag for this tripod: https://bhpho.to/2eDBT6d

Q: 2. Which bag is recommended?

A: Don't use one, back pack has a slot if needed. Use it too much to carry in a bag, this tripod is a beast

Q: 3. Can this tripod be folded up and fit into the carrier bag without removing the handles?

A: It comes with a standard Manfrotto tripod bag, and it fits in the bag fully assembled. If it doesnt have this accessory, I suggest you might be looking at a 3rd party tripod, or vendor built bundle.Hope this helps.

Q: 4. Does the head allow you to turn the camera for portrait shots?

A: Yes, the 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head on the Manfrotto 290 Dual Aluminum Tripod will allow you to turn the camera for portrait shots.

Q: 5. can I mount a vanguard alta bh-250 ball head on this tripod?

A: Yes, both use the 3/8"-16 standard mount. The BH250 comes with a 1/4"-20 adapter, so remove it if you have it installed in the ballhead when you attempt to mount the head to the tripod legs.

Q: 6. Can the head be removed on this tripod in order for a glide slide track to be used?

A: yes, the head is removable.

Q: 7. can the pan feature be locked ?

A: Yes. The 3 ways that the head can be locked are vertical tilt, horizontal tilt, and panning.

Q: 8. How does this differ from B&H # MA190XPRO4Q5 (B&H Kit), apart from the price difference?

A: The MT190XPRO4 has a higher load capacity, and the MK190XPRO has a much shorter minimum height.

Q: 9. Can this tripod hold a weighted sandbag?

A: No. This is a 3 leg tripod with no middle bracket to hold a sand bag.

Q: 10. I intent to use a Canon HF G20 and leave it in a fixed position to record billiard/pool stuff. Is there any reason the head will not be suitable. Or should I get a different cheaper Head?

A: I've been very satisfied with this unit. Absolutely no issues with stability. My equipment is Nikon, good luck!

Provides excellent performance. I have used this tripod for both hunting, nature viewing and long distance photography. It is incredibly stabil and allows for use on very uneven terrain. It is on the heavy side, but so long as you plan your packing list for your other items, it is quite manageable.

It is light enough to hike in and out while hunting. I use it to mount my spotting scope using the Arca Swiss adapter. I can then tighten the head and switch to a shooting V if need be. If you’re looking for something lighter for more money then more power to you. For me it’s plenty light enough and very sturdy, I can lean some weight and rest my rifle on this without feeling like it will break.

It was time to replace my 40-year-old professional tripod, and I wanted a traditional, sturdy replacement. This looks like it will fill the bill.

Looks like it will do well with my Kowa spotting scope. Small enough to carry on field trips and sturdy enough to keep a large spotting scope(80mm) steady. A good value

Am having to replace a beloved, but heavy weight, really heavy, Manfrotto tripod used for years in bird survey projects. This Vortex tripod is well engineered and sturdy. I am able to actually carry it easily along with a lighter weight Vortex spotting scope as I'm aging to 80 soon.
