In other words, it could be used but you would need to provide a great deal of lens support.

A: The mount itself would work, however the support bracket likely not. The bracket is meant to be used inverted and hang from a Wooden Camera FS7 Top plate, something not possible with the NEX-700. I would suggest the Metabones MB_PL-E-BT1 PL to E-Mount Adapter with Internal Flocking B&H # MEMBPLEBT1 as the most affordable solution. There are three alternatives to this that are very compatible to the NEX-FS100. They are more robust and will do a better job of maintaining the lenses back focus. Please see below.

A: The Sony FS-7 has a Super35 sensor. The PL lens mount was developed for film cameras with Super35 apertures. So among PL mounted lenses and cameras, there is no change in the field of view or magnification. As near as I know, there is no full frame PL mount camera so you will never see a difference among PL mount Super35 cameras while using PL mount lenses. (An exception of course is if you go to a camera with a PL mount but with a smaller sensor than Super35.)I strongly suggest that using crop factor or lens magnification as tools be dropped. Just learn what the wide-normal-tele lens mm's are for each camera you are using. For me it makes no sense wasting time calculating for a format you are not using.
