The Wooden Camera Unified Baseplate supports 15mm LWS rods at the correct lens height, and it offers a vertical 15mm rod port for incorporating the optional Unified Lens Adapter Kit. This Kit allows you to support different lens adapters from Wooden Camera, Metabones, and other brands.

The Baseplate includes the Core Unit, a Lower Quick Dovetail tripod plate on the bottom, and a Dovetail Camera Plate for the Blackmagic URSA Mini and Sony F55/F5. Other Unified Baseplate Dovetail Plates are also supported, allowing for quick swaps with a variety of cameras.

The Baseplate provides two quick release options. You can remove the Dovetail Camera Plate only and leave the Core Unit with your rod pair behind, or you can remove the Core Unit from the Lower Quick Dovetail, in which case you'll have a dovetail on the bottom of the Core Unit that's compatible with any 2060 Dovetail, Safety Dovetail, or Shoulder Rig.

The Dovetail Camera Plate features a long slot along its center that lets you secure it to the camera with multiple screws (included), which can be set up to 2.8" (70mm) apart. It also has a non-slip rubber surface that will prevent the camera from twisting.

The Dovetail Camera Plate has an ARCA Swiss standard dovetail compatible with many third-party products. It also has threaded 1/4"-20 threaded holes on the bottom for attaching to gimbals or other compatible tripod plates. The Lower Quick Dovetail has 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes for attaching to tripod plates or ARRI standard bridgeplates, such as the Wooden Camera Unified Bridgeplates.

The Unified Baseplate can also be upgraded for VCT-14 compatible mounting options. Simply attach it to the optional Unified VCT Wedge Plate, which can then be mounted on the Unified VCT-14 Tripod Plate, also sold separately. The Unified Baseplate is backward compatible with Wooden Camera's original Quick Dovetails (Standard, DSLR, and Large).

A: This is for one V mount battery.

A: While we have not been able to test it with the new 6K Pro, the camera has different dimensions than the 4K/6K (it's larger) and might not sit completely correctly in the cage. It is our assumption that Wooden Camera will soon release a unified accessory kit for the 6K Pro separately.

Q: 4. Is the cage compatible with the EVF/Can you take the top handle off?

A: Yes, the EVF fully works with the camera when the cage is on. The top handle can be removed or if you are going to keep the top handle on the cage with the EVF, it would be best to rotate the handle forward.

Q: 5. Is the cage compatible with the new BMCC6K Full Frame?

A: Including the Wooden Camera Unified Accessory Kit for Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K, there are no cages that accommodate the new Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K L mount at this time.

Q: 6. Can the EVF be rotated to be facing the camera operator directly without the use of the eyepiece for camera control?

A: The Wooden Camera MFT to PL Mount Pro for MFT Cameras plate will fit into the base however the cage and handle cannot hold the Wooden Camera MFT to PL Mount Pro for MFT Cameras.

Q: 9. Can this be used in conjunction with the DZO adapter? Or a metabones adapter?

A: This product is made exclusively for the Wooden Camera E-Mount to PL Mount Pro adapter. We do not recommend this for any other lens adapters.

Q: 10. When the V-mount battery dies during a take, the power sauce will be swapped to the BP-U battery seamlessly if it's in place?

A: The Wooden Camera Battery Slide Pro for Sony FX6 (V-Mount) acts as an AC adapter when in use and you cannot use BP-U batteries to hot-swap. For hot-swapping VMount batteries a sharkfin adapter is your best option.

I love my FX6. My RED and FS7 collect dust and I find myself pushing to replace the Alexa Mini with the FX6 on any shoot I can. It's all about usability and ergonomics. I want the best camera in the smallest lightest package with a button for each function. The FX6 is an extension of my arm. I can shoot docustyle all day without any fatigue and get a great image with a relatively small file sizes, and ultra fast copy times. If you get the Sony lenses the autofocus is impeccable. The build quality on some components is heavily reliant on plastic, but in a lot of ways for a full time shooter you could treat them as replaceable. It can easily fit on a small gimbal, or be mounted in a vehicle, shoot through a window. It's a workhorse. 5

I've shot professionally for over 35 years with cameras made by Sony, Panasonic, Ikegami and Arri. The Sony XDCAM line of HD camcorders had been fantastic in my opinion. The field durability and image quality have never let me down. With the introduction of the FX6 I was really curious about the build quality and overall image quality. The chassis is both light and easy to work with and the menu system offers everything I need for optimum quickness, ergonomics and image adjustments. Now let's speak about the game changer aspect to this camera and that is stepless neutral density system that enables you not to worry about under or over exposure with your chosen aperture whether shooting inside or out in various lighting environments. I can shoot at f2.8 continually with a really soft boheh and not worry about having to adjust it iris as the ND system does it in complete auto. The buttons are all logically placed and have a great feel about them and the 3rd party accessories make this a wonderful cam to custom build to offer the client a superior product. I bought two because one was not enough for me! 5

I have owned an FX3 for the last few years and want to purchase the FX6 for my camera A, especially for the ND filter system. I've got mine recently and haven't been able to test extensively, but the camera feels fantastic so far. The size, weight, buttons display, side handle, and the top handle feels great. I attached the title cage, which significantly upgrades its body and functionality to add other accessories. I was extremely pleased with the image quality of the FX3, and I expect the same with the FX6, with some additional benefits, such as the ND system and shutter angle. 5

This Camera was pushing my budget by a couple Gs. I don't regret it one bit. I have worked with Cinema/Documentary cameras before and have longed for the day when I could own my own. I never though I could get something with so much capability as this. I have not even tried out the Raw recording, external recording, and workflow capabilities yet. The colors I have seen coming out of this in s.Gamut.slog3 look great though. Even in the slightly more compressed file format. I haven't tested the Dynamic range to much, but I have not had any reason to complain yet with 15+ stops. I only get to shoot with this a couple times a month right now but want to use it more consistently moving forward. Will need to use it with stabilization of some kind as there is no IBS. (It is very easy to hold still though). All around great camera. Would recommend for any application. 5

Auto variable nd is amazing, Super lightweight quality build. Would've been nice to have atleast a 3.5mm mic jack however I talked to a company & they are looking into designing an adapter that would connect where the handle does & feed audio signal into the camera. 5

This camera is amazing. I love the small form factor because I like operating with a low profile for verité documentary filming. The image is incredible, and it rivals the FX9. The lowlight performance is best-in-class. The Venice color science is a great feature too, though I primarily stick with slog3 to maximize dynamic range. It’s amazing how much functionality they’ve packed into this small package. No camera is perfect, but this one is truly incredible - especially for solo operators who like to run with a low profile. Would recommend to a friend. 5

I am thrilled to finally get my hands on this camera after waiting for so long. The one negative is I had get the one that includes the kit lens. Sony must have made way too much 24-105 glass because including a non servo lens with this camera is a head scratcher. Beyond that the FX6 is a BEAST! The image quality buries the FS5 that it's replacing. I'm really excited to stop lugging around my external recorder. The dual sensitivities and the variable ND are really all you need to know about the FX6- so good. 5
