Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The specs indicate rubber feet. Can Manfrotto spikes replace those and be inserted into the legs?

A: That I don't know, but I will tell that I do not recommend this tripod. It started to fall apart after relatively heavy use in about 5 months. Get a gitzo. There are worth it.

Q: 2. Can it be used as sling handle?

A: The Manfrotto Carbon Fiber Gimbal Extension could be used as a sling with the proper adapter, since it uses a 1/4"-20 mounting screw for mounting your would need an arm that would have a 1/4"-20 mounting thread to mount it in the sling position. However the Manfrotto Carbon Fiber Gimbal Extension is a far it longer than the handle of the Ronin, so it may be a bit to big/awkward in a sling handle setup.

Q: 3. Tripod for a nikon d500

A: Depending on the head that you purchase, this would be a great tripod choice for your D500.

Q: 4. Hi would like to know if this head will fit on the 190x legs. Thanks

A: The base diameter of this head is significantly larger than the top plate of the 190x legs (80mm vs 60mm) so it will overlap. But it will attach. This head was designed with the larger 057 legs in mind.

Q: 5. Will this tripod hold a weight of a little over 10lbs without shaking or vibrating in the wind?

A: The Manfrotto MT190CXPRO3 Carbon Fiber Tripod is rated for up to 15.4 lb. So this can comfortably hold 10 lb.

Q: 6. Is there a way to place a weight hook on the bottom of the center column?

A: Unfortunately, the MT190CXPRO3 would not be capable of accepting a hook at the end of the column.

Q: 7. what is the overall weight of the package ?

A: The actual weight of the items collectively is not provided. The combined packaged weight of the items (items plus original packing materials) weighs roughly 17lbs.

Q: 8. can the tripod/centercolumn be angel adjusted to make it level, like eg a 75mm bowl head on a videotripod?

A: No, this tripod does not have a leveling base, it only has the ability to angle 90 degrees laterally.

Q: 9. Can I use a wimberly side kick with this?

A: The Wimberley Arca Sidekick Ball to Gimbal Head Adapter needs to be used on a ball head that has an Arca-style quick-release clamp. The Manfrotto MT190CXPRO3 Carbon Fiber Tripod does not include a ball head. You could add the Oben BC-166 Ball Head to the tripod then they could use the Wimberley Arca Sidekick. Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/3ZMirv1.

Q: 10. has anyone used this? how does it compare to a wimberly? are vibrations damped well or poorly? thanks!

A: This is one of the best gimbals. It is carbon fiber, by that material alone it has less vibration then others. The Wimberley WH-200 is also considered one of the best as well, but is not made of Carbon Fiber.

This is a very sturdy ball head. High quality and good value for money.

This is my zillionth Manfrotto head. I purchased to support my 200-600 Sony lens. Typical ball head except it supports huge weight with zero sag. The controls become intuitive with little practice. The friction control helps control the typical break that occurs when loosening the ball. Although I have many Manfrotto quick release plates I chose the Arca Swiss style as it is compatible with my Acratech head. I am using it on an older Bogen/Manfrotto heavy duty tripod. This provides rock steady support.

It's a very stable and well built cf tripod. It's a little bit on the heavy side, but i knew it before i purchased it. It's one of most stable tripos by manfrotto

This head has worked consistently great for me for the last 2 years of very heavy use. No issues what so ever.

I purchased the Manfrotto 057 Magnesium Ball Head with 410PL Quick Release Plate to mount on my Manfrotto MT190CXPRO3 tripod. It may seem like overkill to some, since the load capacity of the head is twice that of the tripod. However, I will be using this combination with a Canon 5DS or 5D Mk IV with a Canon 28-300 mm zoom lens, which physically lengthens with you zoom, thus creating greater leverage, and I wanted to make sure that there was no problem with the ball head holding the fully leveraged force. As far as the QR plate, I have been using the same plate on another Manfrotto head, and I really like the way it locks in rock solid. I also bought a Manfrotto MBAG75PN padded bag -- my ball head and tripod fit perfectly when I roll the ball head over to the extended portrait position.

This is an excellent Ball Head and works great with my D500+Battery Grip.  The groove in the plate lines up perfectly with the bottom rubber on the Battery grip.

I recently had to upgrade to get the extra height needed to photograph overhead on a table. This tripod did a great job, super steady and a monster. It's not light by any means, so if you're thinking carbon fiber here is going to help with that forget it. But if you're looking for a professional grade large tripod with both height and low angle options, this is the ticket.

Haven't had a chance to use it yet in the field but it looks well made and should do exactly what I'm looking for. I already have the 057 ballhead and it fit perfectly.
