The B 20 Close-Speech Guard from Schoeps is a small basket-type windscreen that can achieve high wind attenuation in spite of its small size. Designed for use with various microphone capsules, this windscreen offers optimal reduction of wind noise for various applications. It consists of a plastic basket and washable nylon fabric.

A: No, this kit is for use with the Schoeps MiniCMIT microphone. The Rycote Windshield Kit 2 - Complete Windshield and Suspension System (B&H # RYWSK2) is the kit that fits the CMC641.

A: Given its extremely small size, presently there is no softie windjammer available. The best way to shield the Schoeps MiniCMIT against wind noise is by using a windshield kit; BH# RY086072.

Q: 9. It says windjammer included! which windjammer is it? if it's Olympus WJ-1, it's not compatible to this kit at all, obviously!

A: Included would be the Olympus WJ-1 Windjammer, this comes this way from the manufacturer.

Q: 10. Could this also be used with a Sennheiser DMS rig (with 2 MKH8040s and an MKH30) in a Cinela Pianissimo blimp? I assume so but didn't know if length would be an issue.

A: In theory the Schoeps AK DMS 3U Adapter Cable could also work with a Sennheiser DMS rig, if that rig also summed the microphone signals into a 7-Pin XLR male output connection.

The pre-marked rings for the WCU-4 are great for internalizing the muscle memory of what it feels like to pull from distance A to distance B, regardless of the throw on different lenses. The 20 ring is my go-to for most scenarios. 5

I spent months listening and relistening to every shotgun mic test available online. I listened to every boom mic test as well. I decided that a much cheaper boom mic than a Schoeps could work well, and I went with the AT. But as far as shotgun mics, absolutely nothing could touch the "broadcast ready" sound of the CMIT. Even the mini CMIT doesn't have the same dynamics as the the higher voltage full sized CMIT. I'm not a sound person, but rather a director/DP and also an audiophile who appreciates what outstanding audio brings to a production. I've only used the mic on indoor shoots so far, but haven't found any comb filter problems. While I haven't tested, I feel like using a CMIT in less than optimal conditions (or far away from talent during wide shots) would provide a good basis for cleaning up audio in Izotope RX advanced. 5

We do many location shoots and often have to do interviews in noisy settings, and this mic allows us to get clear audio, even in the most difficult of areas. 5
