This is my goto stand for lighting in the studio. I use a couple of these along with the D600 mini boom.

Works perfect for holding my boomed microphone.

I've used regular lightstands for various tasks for years. Occasionally I shoot portraits on location and even using sandbags my lightstands were not reliable. I'd been considering C Stands of various brands for a long time but always talked my self out of it. Got a job coming up that will be outside and really didn't want to wrestle with my old gear so I decided to get a C stand. I did my research and Avenger always got great reviews and they had what I was looking for. This puppy is superbly built and rock solid. Why did I wait so long? Don't buy another flimsy light stand get an Avenger!!

Real estate photography. Great fore mounting flash up in corner of room when taking picture from outside doorway to room. Will also be used for hair light boom and reflector holder.

I don't ever worry about my lights tipping over with this stand. It stays where I put it. The only negative is that if you unscrew the wrong section and you are not holding on to the right section, it will slam down and you better not have your hand in too close to the pole or your hand could be pinched.

I use the Avenger c-stands for almost everything on the set. I like the black over the chrome so I don't have to worry about light reflections off the stands. Also matches up well with all my black microphone stands and booms. As a bonus, I can interchange parts from the Avenger stands and the mic stands and the combinations end up looking so professional while unique with many more uses than you can imagine.

These are very strong stand, i've stop using typical folding stands after using these. They are a great buy for the money. And if you fall in love with these stand as I did, you will be truley amazed with avenger junior roller stands, they are amazing, again, affordable for what they deliver. These stands will certainly out live me. If you need a roller stand, checkout the a5034. A lot of comapnies cut corners, but not avenger. Not engineered like products from Japan where they only make things as strong as they think they should be. Avenger under rates the strength of there stands in my opinion. But,I guess it is difficult to quantify stand loading.

I needed a stand ASAP so I didn't have time to patiently wait for a used stand. This one shipped for free which saved me a pretty nice bit of change. I have only had it a few weeks but I am impressed so far. The operation is smooth and the finish is holding up just fine. We'll see how that goes after a few years but I'm not concerned. If it gets scratched, it would be easy enough to refinish.
