This 2-pack of ISO-PUCK 76s from IsoAcoustics comprises a portable solution for decoupling speakers, amps, and DJ gear from surrounding environments, thus improving clarity and focus of the resulting sound. With a weight capacity of 40 lb, each puck can support heavy-duty amps, monitors, cabs, or DJ equipment, especially when utilized with other ISO-PUCK 76s.

Each ISO-PUCK 76 sports a two-pronged construction. An upper flange features a suction cup design, which sticks to the underside of the connecting cabinet, while the lower isolator adheres to whatever stand/surface you're using for support. Between the upper and lower parts of the puck, all the energy is managed, resulting in a more defined sound. If you're using these pucks with a stereo pair of studio monitors, you'll notice an improvement in punch, low end, and stereo separation.

The compact nature of these pucks make them ideal for mounting your studio monitors on meter bridges, desktops, floor stands, consoles, and more. This compactness also lends to portable usages, making the pucks a suitable addition to any sound-engineer's mobile tool kit. These pucks also play well with guitar and bass gear as well as DJ equipment.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with the Procaster Mic?

A: No. This device is designed for a large diaphragm side address mic. The Procaster is an end address mic not meant for these types of filters.

Q: 2. Will this work with the MXL 990?

A: Yes, this isolation chamber wil accomodate the MXL 990 large-diaphragm condenser microphone.

Q: 3. Does this work with a Lewitt LCT540?

A: No this Auray ISO-ARMOR-2 model will not work with the Lewitt LCT540 model.

Q: 4. Will this work on a desk anchored boom with "Heil FL-2", supporting an AT2035 mic? I'm aware that it would accommodate the mic but wonder about the weight on the swivel boom?

A: No. This will not work wth a broadcast arm. Regardless of weight it is not designed to be mounted in such a fashion.

Q: 5. Will this work with an Apogee Mic+?

A: This device is not recommended for the Apogee Mic+ since the mic is smaller than most standard large diaphragm condensers, and since the Apogee's controls would be hidden inside the unit.

Q: 6. Will this work with the Apogee Mic+?

A: This shield is not recommended for the Apogee Mic+ due to it's smaller size, as well as potential issues regarding not having access to the gain and headphone controls on the mic if placed inside. A standard reflection would be better suited for this mic, such as B&H # AURFCMSK.

Q: 7. Would a Blue Yeti fit in this?

A: It would be a very tight fit on the Blue Yeti. I would consider using an Auray PFMU-12 Universal Wire Mesh Pop Filter with 12" Gooseneck (Matte Black), BH #AUPFMU12 with this mic, and an Auray RF-C12 Professional Desktop Isolation Filter (Gray), BH #AURFC12. These would pair well with the Blue Yeti.

Q: 8. Could this work with a UA SC-1? Width for SC-1 is 2.4" & this says max is 2.3". Is the bottom piece foam? Could I modify it?

A: Yes, the Universal Audio SC-1 Standard Condenser Microphone is compatible for use with the Auray ISO-ARMOR-2 Microphone Isolation Chamber. The chamber will hold microphones with a diameter of up to 2.3" and the SC-1 has a 2" diameter. The bottom piece is made of foam.

Q: 9. What is the best mic stand for this?

A: There isn't really any one specific mic stand that is best for the ISO-ARMOR-2. It can be mounted on shorter desktop/tabletop stands and also on taller full-size floor stands. It's a matter of what works best for your application and the microphone your are using.

Q: 10. Will it fit on the Rode NT 2 microphone ?

A: Yes it does, but you will need a stand with it.

Bought this for my Yeti mic to record some eLearning. It isn't intended for that, but it fit snugly on top and works well to eliminate white noise. Would recommend for these purposes.

The isolation chamber is great. I have noise from my computer and a nearby Synology NAS that I have to compete with when recording YouTube sessions. This item does the trick. I even got a Presonus PD-70 rigged up to work inside the chamber. It's a little big, but I was able to insert from the bottom, after removing the ring.
