Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this work with Sound Devices XL-WPH3 45W DC Power Supply? And with Remote Audio Anton Bauer PowerTap to 4-Pin Hirose Male DC Power Cable (14 ) to power MixPre-6 off Anton Bauers? Thx

A: The Hirose DC Input has a voltage range from 10-20v. So do not power from mains IEC it will fry the unit.

Q: 2. Does this provide power regulation when used with a V-Mount battery? I don't see a recommended voltage range in my MixPre-6 manual.

A: This will regulate power of an external battery to properly run the mixpre6.

Q: 3. Why is this product, which only holds one NPF battery, far more expensive than the one that holds two? Are there more features?

A: The Sound Devices MX-LM1 L-Mount Battery Sled holds one NP-F battery parallel to the chassis, and the Sound Devices MX-LMOUNT Battery Sled holds two NP-F batteries perpendicular to the chassis. There are differences in construction between the two models, but you will need to contact Sound Devices regarding the difference in the price between the two models.

Q: 4. What is the difference between this one and the cheaper $65 option?

A: Hi Jared. The MX-LMOUNT holds 2 NPF batteries, and the MX-LM1 only holds 1 NPF. Battery orientation is parallel to the chassis for the MX-LM1, but perpendicular for the MX-LMOUNT.

Q: 5. what type of batteries are compatible?

A: The Lectrosonics SRBATTSLEDBOTTOM SR Battery Sled is designed for use with L and M type rechargeable batteries to power Lectrosonics SR Receivers.

Q: 6. Is there a voltage regulator inside or does ist pass through voltage/current from the 7,2v l-mount battery?

A: Voltage regulation not needed with Sony l type batteries it’s designed for those

Q: 7. What Hirose to Dtap connector is recommended for this, to connect this directly to a V Mount D Tap?

A: We offer BH #RECAPTAPHIR and if you require right-angle connectors we also offer BH #CAC2537

Q: 8. Do you have to use two batteries at once or can you use one? Also, what's the estimated run time with phantom for the smaller (2900mh) and medium (5000mh) Sony NPF batteries? Thanks.

A: You only need one battery. I use two just because it seems a bit less awkward to handle. Two of the smaller batteries will run the recorder and a couple of mics all day long.

Q: 9. What L Batteries are compatible? Some are ripped apart by the oversized pins.

A: I didn't want to mess around and went with the Sony NP-F970 battery (even though it is not the cheapest option) with this adapter. It has worked flawlessly without any issues. Two years on the road and we haven't had any issues with power using that battery.

Q: 10. Is this compatible with the new mark II line? Like the MixPre-3ii?

A: Yes it is.
