A: Yes, the Tentacle Sync E can sync an Atomos Ninja V.

Q: 3. Does this affect the audio I get through the MI shoe on a Sony A7SIII using the ECM-W2BT?

A: The Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 would use one channel of audio to record timecode info. Audio timecode is recorded on the left channel, while the scratch audio of the Sync E is recorded on the right channel. A solution like the Tentacle Sync E would be used for an external audio recorder, and you would not be recording audio in camera. The A7SIII has four audio channels to work with, so you should still be able to use your Hot Shoe mic. SONY A7SIII Audio channels: https://bit.ly/4984FH7

Q: 4. Question: I have a Zoom H6, will the Tentacle Mk2 work with it?.

A: The Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator with Bluetooth 5.0 (Dual Set) are meant to jam cameras and will offer nothing being connected to the ZOOM H6.

Q: 5. If I have two cameras and an audio recorder, how many of TE2's do I need?

A: You need 1 for every device that does not have a time code input. If you are using cameras/audio recorders with a dedicated time code input you can use 1 Tentacle sync to sync multiple devices but you will need to resync all of your devices every few hours to make sure the time code does not drift.

Q: 6. Hi Works with Tentacle Sync E Audio Recorder? Thanks

A: Yes, the Tentacle Sync Battery Exchange Kit for Tentacle SYNC E is designed to assist in renewing the functionality of out-of-warranty Tentacle SYNC E timecode generators.

Q: 7. If it does not record internally, then is just a timecode generator that accept a timecode input and output timecode too using 3.5 mm for any camera or sound device and bluetooth compatible with a Tentacle Sync product?

A: The Tentacle SYNC E's generate a Timecode standard called SMPTE 12M. This standard is widely used in broadcast productions. Some camera can read the signal and embed it into the metadata of the video files they record. Others can't do this, like most of the DSLR and Mirrorless cameras. On these cameras, you can record the same signal on an audio track along the video. This is called Audio TC. Some editing programs like AVID Media Composer, or DaVinci Resolve can directly read the Audio TC, others need to have it embedded first before you can sync the files. For this, Tentacle offers software: Tentacle Sync Studio (macOS) or Tentacle Timecode Tool (Windows)

Q: 8. Can I run a singular Sync E to a Rolls RA163 distro amp and then use it to send timecode to 3 other devices?

A: No. The Tentacle Sync E mkII Timecode Generator needs to be connected directly to the device that you will be sending timecode to.

Q: 9. Could I use a BNC cable, like the one linked below, to use this Tentacle Sync with a Sony FX6? I'm looking to find a way to use the FX6 without a top handle and still have an audio source. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1327596-REG/tentacle_sync_c08_cable_tentacle_to.html

A: Yes, You can use the Sony FX6 time code port which is BNC with this cable. Good info from Tenticle sync - https://bit.ly/3qcTYih Also see page 7 #23 in the FX6 manual for the port location - https://bit.ly/3e6Rpv2

Q: 10. Is there a difference in range with this version and the previous version ?

A: For now, there won't be any changes in the Bluetooth range of the Tentacle SYNC E MkII compared to the MkI. The functionality will be identical with the previous version. Possibly in future, Tentacle will be able to offer an update that allows a wider range. Currently, the range is around 10-15 meters.
