The blimp includes a a short XLR pigtail cable for connecting the mic cable to a boom pole with ease. I am not sure what type of scenario you will be using the mic for, but generally a shotgun mic would attach to a boom pole and be aimed at talent to pick up isolated dialog. The Rode DeadWombat is slightly longer and much wider than the Rycote WJ4. The DeadWombat has a length of 515mm, an inner depth of 508mm, and an outer diameter of 170mm. Rycote notes that a Windjammer is most effective when it fits tightly over the Windshield. Their Windjammers are designed so that their approximate length is about 50mm longer than the corresponding Windshield.
