Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. 20 amps rating?

A: Nope its only rated for 15 amp. If it was rated for 20 amps the plug would be made different

Q: 2. Does this protect from gray outs?

A: This is a surge protector, it does not have a built-in battery and cannot protect against low voltage issues. It also cannot protect against slightly higher voltages, only sudden surges. That's why they call it a surge protector, not a power conditioner.

Q: 3. Does this provide code-required lightning protection for outside wireless access points powered over ethernet?

A: The DITEK DTK-WM4NETS is certified for the following standards: UL497B; Cat 5e; EIA/TIA 568A; EIA/TIA 568B. It provides a 20 kA surge current rating per pair.

Q: 4. Is that a power switch on the box?

A: Yes. The red switch on the Furman Pro Plug 6-Outlet Power Block Pair Kit BH #FUSS6B2K (B&H Kit) would be a power switch.

Q: 5. what is the clamping voltage for the furman ss-6b?

A: That detailed information is only available by calling Furman directly. It's a fine general use surge protector but if you wanna protect your gear, step up to Surgex

Q: 6. Are any of the holes threaded?

A: No, the Quasar Science Q-Block with Fastening Bolts holes are not threaded.

Q: 7. can it be plugged into 220v?

A: No, the Furman Pro Plug 6-Outlet Power Block with Surge Protection BH #FUSS6B is 120 VAC, 60 Hz only.

Q: 8. how long is the power cord, need a power strip with a 25 ft board?

A: The cable length for this unit is 14.5 ft long.

Q: 9. Are the outlets spaced far enough apart so that I could squeeze a couple of wall warts in there along with some regular sized plugs?(what is the distance between adjacent outlets)

A: The spacing is decent, enough for a wall wart and a plug, but not two wall warts directly side by side. I had wall warts plugged in on the ends with normal plugs in the centers.

Q: 10. Whats the vertical length one can move it up or down for vertical adjustment?

A: I believe it's about an inch or so.

The SS-6B does the job it was meant to do, protect your device like Furman is none for doing. The cord length makes reaching that far away socket easier

I love that they made this out of metal with a black powdercoat finish. The EMI/RFI noise attenuation was another selling point for me. This also has a fairly long cord which is perfect for bar gigs where you just need to reach the nearest outlet. It's the perfect middle ground between $6 power strips from Lowes, or $200 rack units with lights and switching power...The only thing I don't like is just a gripe with all surge protector manufacturers--a lot of surge protectors will protect you against a surge and then continue providing power with NO further surge protection and no indication that the protection is gone. I'm not sure if this does that or not, and I wish Furman was a little more open about it.

It's a really nice power supply that easily powers 2 cameras, 3 pro lights and can still charge a phone. BOOM! No brainer

The switch and sockets seem very well made and solid. The 15 foot, heavy duty cord is a real bonus. I use two of these mounted inside a lighting truss.
