$309.00 $444.96

Equipped with the Comica Audio CVM-VM20 camera-mount shotgun microphone, any run-and-gun videographer, mobile journalist, or vlogger can shoot on a camera or mobile device and capture markedly improved sound quality. The mic's auto-configuring 3.5mm TRRS output allows you to use the included TRS to TRRS cable whether you shoot with a smartphone, tablet, DSLR, or camcorder. And forget about stocking spare batteries; the CVM-VM20 can run off its internal rechargeable battery or a USB power source.

Thanks to the stepless gain dial, the CVM-VM20 offers convenient optimization of your recording level at the mic, so you don't have to crank up the gain (and subsequent noise) on your recording device. If you encounter bass buildup from rumble, engage the onboard low-cut filter to 75 or 150 Hz according to the situation. The included shockmount reduces camera handling noise, further contributing to clean, intelligible recordings.

The CVM-VM20 features a 3.5mm TRRS output with automatic TRS/TRRS sensing functionality, making it compatible with most 3.5mm microphone input jacks. Whether you shoot with a smartphone, tablet, DSLR, or camcorder, the CVM-VM20 makes it easier to get setup and start recording. The mic is supplied with a 3.5mm TRS to TRRS cable, so you don't have to change to a different cable just to switch from your smartphone to a camera.

By incorporating a stepless gain dial with up to 20 dB of boost, the CVM-VM20 lets you easily optimize your recording level without relying on the often-noisy gain stage built into cameras and mobile devices.

With the CVM-VM20's low-cut filter, selectable at 75 or 150 Hz, you can attenuate low-frequency rumble at the mic rather than having to address the issue in postproduction.

Whereas most mics built into cameras and mobile devices capture sound from all directions, the condenser capsule of the CVM-VM20 utilizes a supercardioid polar pattern to deliver narrow frontal pickup and effective rejection of sound at the sides. This gives you more intelligible speech and sound effects recording with less overall ambience.

Equipped with an internal 320mAh lithium-ion battery, the CVM-VM20 keeps you rolling for hours and hours. When it's time to recharge, just use the supplied USB Type-C cable to connect the mic to a computer's USB port, a USB power supply, or a USB battery pack. The CVM-VM20 can be operated while its battery charges, allowing extended run time for long shoots.

The onboard OLED screen serves as a real-time power monitor, showing a highly visible meter for the battery. Use the power switch to turn off the mic during periods of inactivity to reduce battery drain.

Thanks to its metal construction, the microphone is not only tough, but also shielded against radio-frequency interference.

The included shockmount attaches to a camera shoe mount and decouples the mic from your camera, minimizing the transfer of vibrations from camera handling noise. Slip the supplied foam windscreen to reduce noise from light wind and fans. For enhanced protection against wind noise in outdoor shoots, use a furry windshield (available separately). The CVM-VM20 comes with a case to enable safe and convenient transport of the mic from gig to gig.

When it arrived i was very excited. However i did not have any 9v batteries and after the long day at work I didnt feel like running out to buy it at the time. but i mounted it to the boom pole and to my camera and everything about it seemed legit. When i awoke the next morning I found that my dog had escaped out of her cage and chosen to chew on it. So sadly i never got to use it. But everything about it impressed me and I plan on getting another one here real soon.

Sounds great, costs less than a balanced mic + preamp, comes with shock mount, plug 'er in and let 'er rip. Although you could just plug this right into your HDSLR, I am running it into a Zoom H1. Easy to run and pretty brainless in terms of getting it going, but sounds much better than the onboard options. I've used a number of cheapie mics over the years, including some homemade ones, and this one has really nice tone and volume for the price-tag. The shock-mount makes a nice addition, but concerns me a little in terms of transport and longevity. The durability of it is yet to be seen, but I've never heard they break easily.

I use this mic to make short films for our community connection outreach projects at the police department. Very clean and crisp. I recently used it to film a meeting in a place with a lot of echo, and i was sure the speaker's words were going to be lost and that i would have to spend a while on noise reduction, but no, picked up the speaker, minimal echo, I was very surprised, maybe you can get a better sounding mic, but for hundreds more that's for sure. This mic will make a difference in your films, no matter what you shoot. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that it has a metal liner plate inside the base for boom poles of two sizes to screw in securely. If i was to make one suggestion, it would be to make the mounting shoe out of metal, just to reduce the unlikely POSSIBILITY of it breaking,

I use the Rode shotgun mic for primarily school project films, to include short stories, music videos, and compositions. I absolutely love this microphone, and fell in love with it completely when I bought my own, which came bundled with a micro boom pole (about 7 feet long), and an extension cable. This mic can pic up sounds crisp and clear from very far distances away. This mic can pick up a LOT of sound. Of course, in some cases, this can be detrimental, but a good camera operator knows how to control the capture levels of the audio so that it can be controlled. The one problem you will NEVER have with this mic, is not picking up enough sound.

I bought the bundle package and it cheap! I use with a zoom H1 and the sound is perfect for this level. I love that it is directional unlike the H1 So it doesn't pick up background noise

I'm a beginner age 16, but I run my own photography page, I shoot both photos and videos. My videos consist of either people videos or track cars. I've used this microphone on several occasions already. When recording voice it definitely makes my voice sound lower. But for cars and exhaust its great. It unscrews from the hotshoe pretty quickly and easily but holds firm when you put it on. If you buy this, take note that you SHOULD be running magic lantern to get the best audio, and you're going to want to lubricate the shock mount rubber bands to prevent squeaking.Look up Kyle Phan on Vimeo, I have my mic test video up on there. My only video so far.

I bought the Rode VideoMic to use with my DSLR camera. The mic gives me a lot more distance and better sound when used on the camera. I was hoping it would help clear up the hiss but that's a problem that will need to be solved on the camera itself with the camera's auto-gain. The mic really works great when I use it with a separate recording device. It is crystal clear on my recorder or when recording directly to my laptop or desktop. It's a really good mic and incredible quality for the price.
