Unfortunately the Belkin Adapter does not support standalone microphones, but will work with the built-in mic included with Lightning equipped headphones.

The lightning tip engages my charging ports very securely. Best of all, the cable ends are STRONG. I always end up with cables that fray at the connectors and have to be thrown away, but there's no way this cable will do that. I highly recommend it. This one will surely withstand being stuffed in your bag, plugged and unplugged a million times in the car, and carried in your pockets. 5
