Designed for use with separately available accessories such as the Black Box RS-232 Modem Splitter Rackmount Chassis, this splitter can transmit received data from the modem to all connected Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) devices. Please note that only one terminal device can send data to the modem at a time. Data sent from attached RS-232 terminal devices is logically or gated by the modem splitter before it is transmitted to the modem.

The splitter's master port connects to your modem using an RJ-45 straight-through cable and a separately purchased adapter while the four remaining RJ45 ports connect to your DTE terminal devices. Ports 1 to 4 have additional "Port n" connectors on the rear of the card. With its plug-and-play design, there are no switches, jumpers, or settings to configure.
