Since your viola is smaller in size and closer to a full-size violin, it may work well on your instrument, but unfortunately we are not able to test it to confirm. B&H does offer a 30-day return policy and this item is returnable for a refund if it does not work as desired with your viola. Q: 10. do you think it would be possible to fit 8 boom mic stands inside? some reviews said 6 fit, wondering if 8 can squeeze

A: Hi, Marlene. The bags are about 45 inside dimensions - longest length. I have Ultimate speaker stands in 1 of each and four (4) collapsing boom mike stands in two others. The maximum I can get in is six (6) boom mike stands -- but it was a forced fit. Eight (8) will not fit. That is why I got 2 for the mike stands. On another note the bags are very sturdy and well constructed -- they take a lot of abuse. Hope this helps. Take care.
