Q: 1. Will this allow me to connect a MacBook Air (11-inch, Early 2014) with Thunderbolt 2 port to a HDMI input TV??

A: Yes, the StarTech Mini DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 4K Audio/Video Converter (Black) BH #STMDP2HD4KS would allow you to connect a Macbook Air 11'' 2014 to a TV via HDMI. You would also need an HDMI cable.

Q: 2. Will this cable work with the matrox tripplehead2go?

A: DP2DVIMM6 is a passive DisplayPort to DVI-D cable and will work on any DP++ enabled source and DVI-D display. Atha, StarTech.com Support

Q: 3. Is it an active adapter?

A: ... power from the DisplayPort connection.

Q: 4. does this support 144hz @ 1920x1080p?

A: No, the DP2DVIS supports a maximum resolution of 1920x1200 @ 60hz. Atha, StarTech.com Support

Q: 5. Will this work on a dvd player to connect to a projector?

A: Technically, yes, it could work, but it all depends on the resolution and frame rate your DVD player outputs. If your DVD player outputs a 1920 x 1080/ 60i video signal, then this converter should recognize the signal and converter it to VGA. However, if your DVD player outputs a standard definition or 720p signal via the HDMI connection, this will not work.

Q: 6. I have an older gateway windows 7 pc only a single gva output. I need a converter to hdmi and a vga splitter to run two monitors?

A: This device simply takes a digital HDMI signal and converts to an analog SVGA output. It will not provide you with any means of running 2 monitors. If you want the same display on 2 monitors you can use a splitter. You will need to buy a splitter that matches whichever output you choose to go with. So, if you buy this device, you will need a splitter that takes a single SVGA input and splits it into 2 XXXX output of your choice. If you are trying to get 2 monitors that Windows (I assume) will see as independent monitors, then you need a graphics card to do so, or device similar to TripleHead2Go (multi monitor adapter). In order to have Windows see independent monitors, you have to have some kind of hardware that will manage 2 monitors (either graphics card, or external graphics processor). I assume you want Windows to see 2 monitors, I recommend a new graphics card to do so.

Q: 7. Will this work on a lenovo thinkpad thunderbolt port?

A: Yes, this adapter would also be compatible with your Lenovo Thinkpad's Thunderbolt port.

Q: 8. can I connect this to 3 monitors and display different content?

A: No it does not have a GPU. It can only support 1 monitor at-a-time.

Q: 9. Will this work on a Optiplex 3020?

A: We have used it with a Matrox triple head, and worked fine. I don't know if this can help to you

Q: 10. Will this product work if you are converting your laptop display via svideo to a splitter that has 6 plasma tv displays?

A: I suppose that would work if you already have a x6 S-Video splitter and 6 plasmas with S-Video inputs. The S-Video will add interlacing which is not always desirable. You don't have VGA inputs on your plasmas? I would rather see your VGA output duplicated via a distribution amp (DA) and then pushed to each display. I would prefer to see an active DA (powered). I originally bought this device to run computer visuals through an analogue SD video mixer. I hope this helps.
