I was very frustrated after spending several weeks and money trying to find a device to add a 3rd monitor to my Huawei Matebook D15. Long story short, I found out after buying another expensive adapter, that the Type-C port on my laptop doesn't transmit video signal (FML!!!). I came across this StarTech adapter, but was hesitant at the beginning because I had never tried a video adapter that connects via USB, but at the end I decided to give it a try in order to exhaust any available options to accomplish what I needed. Once I got it, I downloaded the latest driver from their website, followed the installation instructions, and upon restarting my computer and connecting the HDMI cable to the adapter, Voilà! I got video! Although I couldn't use the 75Hz that my monitor supports, I felt happy to finally had found what I needed. Cheers, 5

Easy, cost-effective way to add another monitor using a USB port (Dell 755 running Windows 7). Got message during installation that video chipset may not be compatible, but encountered not problems. Can't detect any performance issues using a USB 2.0 port. 5
