Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the expiration date?

A: B&H buys and sells ink in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh ink stock. All of our ink is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our inks prior to purchase.

Q: 2. What is the difference between an Ink Tank and an Ink Cartridge as regards to Canon Pro9000 MkII?

A: It is the same thing. You buy all teh 8 cartridge in a value pack

Q: 3. How many ML per tank?

A: While I dont know the volume I can tell you the purchasable tanks are all identical. You cant buy a larger quantity that will fit in printer.

Q: 4. How many prints should I expect to get out of one color cartridge? I print full color prints 12x16 in size. Thanks Jen

A: Due to all the variables involved in printing, Canon does not publish ink yield on this cartridge..

Q: 5. What is the ML size of this tank? Alternately, what is the page yield for the PGI-250XL (22ML) tank? Thanks, danny izzo

A: The Canon PGI-250PGBK Black Ink Tank is about 13mil and yields approximately 100-300 pages. Unfortunately Canon does not publish data on page yield for the 22 PGI-250PGBK XL.

Q: 6. what is the difference in ink volume between the CLI-271 and CLI-271XL ?

A: Mistakenly I clicked on Robert L.'s reply as being inaccurate, but his reply is right on.

Q: 7. are these pigment or dye inks?

A: Per Canon's literature these are dye based inks

Q: 8. how much ink is in this cartridge?

A: 14 ml

Q: 9. I owe a canon mp600 printer, I need to shoot a 3 day convention and I want to know how much ink will I need for the 3 days. How many pictures 5x7 can I print with one of this ink packs? How many I will need?

A: Canon does not publish page-yield on their consumer printer inks. Your best option is to purchase extra packs. Whatever you do not use, you can save for later, or return any unopen packs to B&H within 30 days of purchase.

Q: 10. I have an older pixma ip6700D that I believe uses six of these cartridges. Will these work with my 6700d even though i would not need the red and green if they do?

A: The Canon CLI-8 Ink Tank 8-Pack BH #CACLI88K is only listed as compatible with the PIXMA Pro9000 Photo Printer and PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II Photo Printer. I understand the IP6700D does use CLI-8 but since Canon does not list that printer for this specific ink set, I could not be able to guarantee that it will work since they use chips on the cartridges that could potentially make it unusable unless you have the printers listed on the box. My best advice is to get them separately because those do mention your printer.

The kit wasn't available when I ordered, so B&H offered to keep me apprised of its availability. Sure enough, it showed up and just in time for my ink refill.

I’ve used other compatible ink for the pixma pro100 and found that they compatible ones were cheaper but were not filled completely and would leak when installing them
So I went back to the canon ones with no problems
It appears that I’m able to print more pictures with the canon pixma pro 200 than the 100 cartridges
I have had no problem with the canon puma pro 200 even after it’s been idle for months
