Once a Sigma Art, Contemporary, or Sports line lens is connected, you can use the Sigma Optimization Pro software to configure focus settings and update lens firmware.

For all lines of lenses, there are four categories for prime lenses and 16 categories (four options for focal length, four options for shooting distance) for zoom lenses available. These categories allow you to set certain focusing settings to better suit your personal shooting style.

If using a Sports line lens, additional lens configurations are available: three different AF speed modes to modify how quickly the lens changes focus; the ability to constrain focus distances within a specific range to suit your personal shooting habits; and three Optical Stabilizer modes to suit the manner in which you are shooting.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have a Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM APO Autofocus Lens for Nikon will it dock with it ?

A: The Sigma dock is not compatible with the older 150-500mm lens.

Q: 2. I have the Sigma 50mm F1.4 DG HSM Art for Nikon. Is this USB Dock working with the lens?

A: Sorry, but I have not used it.

Q: 3. Is any kind of calibration aid (i.e., test chart) needed with this, or does the dock and software do it all?

A: Robert, you don't need a test chart, but I would recommend a ruler or yard stick propped up at an angle to the vertical of about 30-45 degrees with the low point of the stick closest to you and it pointing away from you. Put a rod of some kind in the ground pointing straight up and next to some point in the middle of the yard stick. That will be the point you focus on. Position your camera the distance away you want to check the calibration (the Sigma software gives you 4 distances to calibrate). Take the picture focusing on the vertical rod. Open the image full size and look at the marks on the ruler. If the tick directly next to the rod you set up is in focus, it is fine for that distance. If it is sharper further on or further in, then use the software to adjust the focus a little and try again. Do a search for Sigma Brand Video for a good primer on how to use the software (it does require user input). If you do buy it hook everything up immediately and make sure it works. Mine does not recognize the lens (150-600 contemporary). I've gotten a replacement dock and it is still not working several weeks after getting the lens and dock.

Q: 4. Is this dock compatible with Sigma 150-600 Sports Lens?

A: Thank you for your interest in Sigma products. The USB Dock is compatible with the 150-600mm Sports lens. You just have to make sure that lens mount is the same as the USB Dock. For example, If the 150-600mm Sports lens is for Canon, then you will need the Canon mount USB Dock. The USB Dock will work with our Art, Sport, Contemporary lenses. However it will not work with the DN lenses.

Q: 5. Sigma 30mms f1.4 Art lens fit to Nikon n5600, cannot auto focus. Pls advise. Tq

A: You can ask Nikon or sigma lens company sigma should be able to help you. Even Nikon USA should be able to tell for sure what you really need to know for sure. I don't have one so I would really check with one or the other for sure. Sorry.

Q: 6. I have the Sigma 150-600mm lens for Nikon. I've taken pictures of the moon before that were tack sharp. Now tonight, I put the lens on, focus locked in on camera, take the shot on a tripod, and self timer, and images are blurry, not in focus at all. Will this dock help?

A: Based on the time and date you posted this question, there was a lot of smoke in the atmosphere due to the forest fires in the west. Chances are that smoke contributed to the blur. I would recommend testing the lens again on a clear night (although the moon did look really cool last night). But also the Sigma Dock will allow you to calibrate the focus with your lens as well as update the lens firmware and change the focus settings.

Q: 7. Can this be used with the Sigma 24 mm 1.4? I have sigma 24 mm 1.4 for Nikon

A: Thank you for your interest in Sigma products. Yes, USB dock is compatible with all Sigma ART, SPORT and CONTEMPORARY series lenses including your 24mm F1.4 ART lens.

Q: 8. Does this work with the Sigma Art 135?

A: I have no knowledge if they are proprietary to each lense or not. I bought package deal.

Q: 9. Is this dock compatible with Sigma macro 105 f2.8 ex dg os hem lens for D7200 dslr ?

A: Unfortunately not. This dock is only compatible with the Sigma Art, Contemporary, and Sports line lenses.

Q: 10. Can this be used with the Sigma 10-20 3.5 ?

A: No it cannot. I am unaware of any customizations that can be made to the Sigma 10-20mm 3.5. I do use the USB dock on my sigma 150-600mm sport. It is a useful tool.

I bought the dock after I purchased my Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art lens. The ability to adjust the lens and keep it up to date is great. The price point is great as is the user interface. To me it was a no brainer as I look forward to future Sigma A, C and S lenses.

while this device feels cheap and goes on very clunkily.... The ability to download and upgrade the latest software for my Sigma lenses had made them super tack sharp. Incredible.

Bought this to update 35mm f1.4 Art lens firmware for compatibility with D810. Also used it to adjust focus setting for use on D810 and D800E. Simple, easy and quick to use. If Nikon took this approach we wouldn't have to send the new 300mm f4 PF to a repair center for a simple lens firmware update.

All lens manufactures should do this. This is great forward thinking on Sigmas part and its one of the reasons they are enjoying a lot of success right now. I like peace of mind this device gives you, especially after investing some good $$ on Sigma glass. This eliminates the camera manufactures from developing firmware to make these lenses incompatible. It also gives users great control and fine tuning.

This thing works great and the software (download) is easy to use for fine tuning my Sigma 150-600 Sport lens. I programed the two switches on the lens with it and did one firmware update so far. I'm glad I purchased it.

I works and very glad that I am able to correct the focus issues of my 35mm 1.4 Few things to remember are - the adjustment distance is minimal. If you have a new Sigma Art lens that has far off focus, better you replace it. - need to have patience to do the adjustments though multiple trials. One suggestion is - Use a length measuring scale next to an object and focus on the object and see how far off is focus and correct it with the software.
