A: The remote is a LANC port. From the spec: 1 x LANC on 2.5 mm sub-mini. I also recommend using the Sony LANC controller. It is a few $ more, but well worth it.

A: You will need a lens capable of Auto Focus for this controller to work. It controls the focus through the camera, so the lens used will need to be able to auto focus.
