Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the Kase 82mm K9 adapter be screwed into the Skyeye UV filter?

A: No, the Kase 82mm Skyeye Magnetic Multicoated UV Filter (B&H# KA1121220104) can only accept magnetic mounting on it. The Kase 82mm Magnetic Adapter Ring for K9 (B&H# KA1111080043) screws into the filter threads, and then the K9 filter holder system attaches to it.

Q: 2. Has anyone used this filter with an ultrawide lens? Is it thin enough to use on my 11-20mm?

A: You will not have any problems with vignetting when using this filter on the 11-20mm lens.

Q: 3. Does the 67mm filter have front threads for a lens hood? The images seem to indicate no.

Q: 4. Hu guys, I'm after a UV filter for a Canon 16-35 f2.8 II. I think I've narrowed down my choices to: (a) Hoya 82mm Ultraviolet UV Haze HD (High Density) Digital FilterB&H # HOUVH82 ? Mfr # XHD82UV(b) Hoya 82mm HD2 UV Filter B&H # HOUVH282 ? Mfr # XHD2-82UVI'm just wondering what the main difference are between the two.Is it just a case of the HD2 being thinner? Is the Haze on the first one a reference to a colour/effect? Thanks for your help.

A: The Hoya HD and HD2 filters are the same except for their respective warranties. The HD filters has a one year warranty and the HD2 have a limited lifetime warranty. The Haze feature on the HD model is to reduce the hazy effect on a bright, sunny day.

Q: 10. Where or what country made this filter? I know B+W is made in Germany and it clearly states it on the product.

A: Made in China. Good thing B&H told me because I tried to contact the company to ask them and received no response. Going back to B+W or Hoya.

The filter is exactly as advertised. It is not my first BW filter so I was not surprised. BW has always been a high quality product. I accidentally ordered the wrong one first and had to return the it. The service/return dept was great. The second one came even faster than the first one. Being used on at 21mm Leica.

Using this on my 24-105mm Canon lens as an extra protection measure. Works great and don't notice any color tinge. I like that it's High Density and hopefully stronger than the regular version.

I'm very happy with the build quality of this filter; it does what it's supposed to do. The metal used looks and feels better than that used in, e.g., Tiffen filters. Low-profile design makes it easy to use other filters without taking this one off. Would recommend.

It matches my Nikon 18-200 mm VR II lens very well. My lens had a focusing problem with a cheap filter at the long focus range. This filter does not create such a problem.

Well made filter. Used for protecting Nikon 200mm micro. Do not expect it to affect sharpness of the lens.
